Hi All
Anyone care to share how they have constructed an oil system for Chev engine for additional rocker lubrication. Photo would be nice.
Im thinking small guage metal tubing and fittings to create a manifold and 16 lines to each rocker stud?
I know they plug into the oil passage above the timing cover but have never peaked under the covers to see the rest of the system.
Cheers Brendon

Mine has a small tube with holes drilled in it fitted to top of rocker cover. Will take the rocker cover off after work tomorrow and take a photo for you.

OK Thanks
So the discharge is a fair way above each rocker then, and must be a fairly random distribution of oil.
I guess the rockers cup design must do a pretty good job of collecting the extra lubricant.
For some reason I imagined a manifold with 8 Tubes dripping the oil directly into the rocker fullcrums
Cheers

You could use the stock chevy alloy valve covers that came out on the Z28 and LT1 motors, they had the oil drip rails cast into the underside of the cover directly above the rocker fulcrum. The worst enemy for stamped steel rockers is heat and i have tried teh suggestion of when replacing a rocker and ball, I pull a used rocker and ball off intake and then put it on the exhaust stud as I have found exhaust rockers fail more so than the intake rockers. I put the new rocker and ball onto the intake stud to break them in.

I never did put a rocker oiling system on my engine, you will find the both rockers on cylinders #1 and #3 with get the hottest because of turning left and acceleration forces the oil away from the front left hand corner of the motor, they turn blue pretty quickly but they dont seem to wear out or break
I run a HV pump and no top end oil restricters, I have run the same set of rockers for several seasons havent had a rocker failiure yet so havent bothered with the oilers
