They'll start the weekend looking as sharp as any other team at the event, if not sharper, but with the likes of KP, Dion Mooney and Ian Barron in the mix, there's likely to be plenty of damage inflicted; hopefully not self-inflicted

That is team racing though, you go in with a plan, then the first corner, its thrown out the window Doesnt Dion still hold the record for the amount of times rolled and still continue racing ... must be the school of hard knocks still in session at Oceanview ( my old old track from when I was a kid)

He landed back on his wheels the first time and was able to continue, but finished wheels-up the second time around, and even Dion Mooney can't race on his side. He also rolled four cars in one stockcar race at Palmy last season, and two Kihikihi cars in half a lap at Teams Champs a couple of years ago. He's very much his father's son!

That he is .... yes I remember him getting rolled a couple of times, but thought he landed on his feet again the 2nd time. Definitely dont go to his outside ( or KP's ). Evan was my hero when I was growing up, and meeting Dion one night, gave me the chance to meet Evan

What is KP driving this year? KP is driving the tank he built for Steve Heibner which he and Kyle were sharing the driving of until a certain night in Palmerston North in November. Anyone who was there that night will recall that the 56v car (16v this weekend) led the first race until the final couple of laps and was hauling. The Jaguar engine has since been declared legal by SNZ. Kyle Heibner is driving the ex-Dale Robertson/Kev Smith car, which was purchased after the Jaguar-powered tank's engine was protested (unsuccessfully). This is a very good Warriors team, and anyone who takes them lightly will do so at their peril

It looks a good team Inventorybut seeing the 3 cars at the new zealand champs just leaves me with reliability issues. Both Dion and Ian had problems with their cars, while Kyle car was ok. I see Mr Taylor is the 6th driver and it would of been good to see this car in the 5 . So what I am trying to say is I hope its not the machinery that lets the team down, when we can see the drivers can do the business. Best of luck to the team , I have got my fingers crossed for a finals position! Go Hard !!!!

Please note it does not say the engine is legal or illeagle. Which I am sure disappointed all parties involved. TECHNICAL PROTEST OUTCOME A technical protest by another competitor has been allowed for in the rules since 1996, but they are exceptionally rare and complicated exercises. Recently a technical protest lodged by Superstock competitor Peter Rees on the Kerry Podjursky car was resolved, albeit unsatisfactorily. It was found that the car wasn’t properly impounded on the night, and therefore the protest was declared null and void. As a result Speedway NZ had to pick up the tab for the $2000 of “reasonable additional expenses” to assist with putting the engine back together after the strip down.Outside of this issue. Wanganui does look formidable. GOod luck to all. check this link for more on the above www.speedway.co.nz/

bit of a joke really - this protest was clearly "resolved" by a technicality. After this decision what is to stop another driver lodging a protest and this time insisting on the correct process being used ? Hope it doesn't happen at this meeting. A whole new thread I reckon

A whole new thread I reckon from what i have read it is snz at fault for making the protest null and void. i wonder if rees got his $$ back. could be a trick up the sleeve should it be required at a later date. this was some time ago, what was protested can anyone remember?

The Jag WAS stripped, checked, and was found legal. It was the protest process that was wrong.

The Jag WAS stripped, checked, and was found legal. It was the protest process that was wrong. That tallies with my information. The rebuilt engine was only put back in the car in time for KP to have a skid last weekend.
