As mentioned in another post on another thread my most anticipated race will have to be Race 7 Wanganui Warriors vs Woodford Glen Eagles 2 rebuilt teams with hard hitters and standouts in both.... im a rebels & busters supporter but this one is shaping up to be a goody in my eyes! hope it lives up to my own in head hype secondly ill go race 4 Wildcats vs Panthers.... wildcats are my dark horse this year and i hink with the lineup they have against the defending panthers this should also be a good race.. Allstars vs Scrappers could go either way, IMO Auckland have a stronger team than they have had in previous years but the Scrappers always put up a fight. This one could go either way and will come down to who can react to the others game plan the best.
Tigers vs Rebels should be a hard hitting race and both teams will be up all night to repair their machinery after this one. Tigers i think have a slight advantage, and with longer between their two races will be able to better repair their cars from their first hit out.
Mustangs vs Warriors will be the group decider. Warrior have the experience and reputation advantage, but the Mustangs are some very talented drivers. Their youth means they don't have a lot of experience, but as last year showed, that doesn't mean they can't pull out the win. They also aren't afraid to put in the big hits and have access to some of the best teams racers out there for advice. I can't pick a winner.
Panthers vs Hawkeyes I think will be the most brutal race of the night. Hawkeyes have been on form this year and the Panthers will have to work hard for the win. If anyone can knock the Panthers out, I think it will be the Hawkeyes, otherwise I think the Panthers will make the final
SEMI FINAL 1: Baypark Busters vs Palmerston North Panthers
SEMI FINAL 2: Nelson Tigers vs Manawatu Mustangs or Wanganui Warriors
FINAL (1ST & 2ND): Palmerston North Panthers vs Nelson Tigers
Panthers should cruise past the Busters and into the final, although the Busters could make them work for it. The Tigers will beat whoever the end up facing in the second semi final, setting up another great Panthers vs Tigers final. which honesty could go either way. I'm picking the Panthers to pick up the win, but it won't be easy.
However, if the Hawkeyes can knock off the Panthers, they will be standing atop the podium at the end of the weekend. Although the first semi final will be interesting, Busters will want payback for their loses to the Hawkeyes earlier in the season, while the Hawkeyes will go in knowing they can beat the Busters. Again I'm predicting the Tigers will win the second semi final, but it won't be easy.
Best of luck to all teams this weekend and remember no matter who wins, its going to be a great weekend of teams racing as always. Lets have some fun and keep the banter friendly

Heres my picks. Wanganui are my pick for dark horse of the year.
Group A - Busters hands down, sorry Stratford and Auckland. Based of last year they can only get better. I just don't think they are strong enough to stop Horses tank nor catch Elsworth.
Group B Tigers but only just over Rotorua, both will pull points over the Lions but I think the Tigers will sneak past the Rebels in race 10.
Group C - I'm picking Wanganui, I think losing Asher will cost the Mustangs a bit but not much given his replacement being Humphries. Two tough re-surging teams for them to come past who will wear them down and Wanganui to top the group but only just. Glen Eagles will fight them for it though. Closest group of the night I think.
Group D - Panthers, enough said. Feel sorry for Hawkeyes only undefeated team from last season, cannot see them one-uping the Panthers. Wildcats are strong but their northern rivals will deal them some damage early.
Just my predictions.
