18 April 2014 Rotorua Stockcar Club News
Easter Extravaganza Cancelled
Due to the amount of rain we have had and the forecast for the next few days the decision has been made to cancel the whole meeting. This will not be re-scheduled, the Ministocks will run their Rotorua Champs in conjunction with next Sunday's meeting.

very sad for everyone but understandable. Hopefully the bay runs and can accommodate a few cars

Yes, a real bummer. Normally stay with very good friends, but being so desperate to catch up on some sleep decided to book (and pay for) some fancy schmancy accommodation this time for the first time at Easter - even booking through to Monday in case one night rained out - and got home yesterday to read this news. I never thought for a second the weather would have been that much worse down there How naive Barry B

It was a very wise call to can this meeting earlier. Theres no way any racing could have taken place . Saved a lot of people wasting money travelling to a meeting that couldn't run. A bit of a bummer for everyone , because it would have been another goody ...

And for the record , the weather is still rubbish in Rotorua on Easter Sunday. The decision to cancel was the right one.

Yes the weather is sill crap. I decided to leave the big smoke nice and early on Friday, (wise decision after hearing it took other friends 5 hours to get here) and I hit rain only when I got to Fairy Springs Road . Grabbed a bite to eat and headed towards the track. The rain has been constant all weekend and I am 2 mins away from the track so I think the call that was made was a hard but a good decision. Absolutely guttered as this is about our 10th or 11th Easter here at Rotorua. Thanks to Brent and Teena for their hospitality on Friday night. Great fun and a few laughs. It absolutely persisting down STILL but Im with great company, its peaceful and its warm. I'm hoping the weather fines up for my early trip home tomorrow, hoping that all the idiots leave later than me and it does not take me hours lol. Safe travels to everyone else
