A week or two ago the Feb 27th & 28th dates were still awaiting approval mainly due to no confirmed date for the Sth Island title yet.

We have applied to Speedway New Zealand for the 27th and 28th of February. Unfortunately we have to wait for Cromwell to have their date approved for the South Island Champs before SNZ can approve ours. I appreciate that this has been very frustrating for booking accommodation etc. I will confirm the dates as soon as we get approval from SNZ.

This is one we will most certainly not miss. I think the Rotorua track will make for some spectacular racing and with the strangle hold the Young Guns and Puma's have had for the last decade finally broken there will be a determination from a lot of teams not to let the trophy head back to the lower North Island in a hurry.
I find it interesting that SNZ does not acknowledge the importance of this meeting in allocating dates, surely it should take priority over Island and GP Championships?
