Hi team,
I'm going to my first uk world final in Coventry in a weeks time to cheers on Mr Bengston and Barr but I can't find a lot of info on how the 2 nights run?
Is there anyone out there that had been before or knows the format for the event? Thanks

Hey speedway fans, does anyone know if there is a live feed for the final or a site that has any current updates on the racing not just the sites with venue and ticket info. Seems to be less hype about this meeting each year. If anyone from the other side of the planet is surfing this site, please wish Peter and Graeme the best of luck on behalf of all Kiwi Superstock fans.

I see there was a car in there with a wing on it like the modifieds here, 390 J Davidson, looks like it got 4th. Another one in there with a wing like superstocks, think that one might have been lapped. Anyone know if these wings are making a mark on their racing over there?

Stuart Smith Jnr's 390 car I beleave his car was inspired to look more like a New Zealand Superstock. I think its pretty wicked what hes done and i think its probly one of the coolest looking Brisca F1 cars ive have seen. Very nice

Yes I agree Was talking to Stuart at Coventry in July and the car would have to be the best looking and sounding car there on that night and he was sure on the pace with it.

At 3.15 in the video there's a good shot of the red car and at 3.40 a good one of 390. "J Davidson" is the sponsor on the car. The 390 wing looks rather high. Going by the parade lap he certainly made up some places.

Graeme and Pete had to do time trails to find there grid position for the big race. Graeme was 4th fastest so that put him outside row 6. Pete was 7th fastest so that put him inside row 12. Graeme got a great start climbing upto 7th? But due to a big pile up in the first corner the race was red flagged and a total restart to be had. Pete was caught in the crash and was able to join the grid after been checked for damage, crew can fix the cars when there is a red flag at the start of a race. The grid was missing a few cars due to the damage from the first corner crash. Graeme wasn't as lucky in the 2nd restart can't remember what part of the race it was but he got a good hit in the front end which caused a bit of damage a dnfed. Pete's race ended up a little worse off than Graeme's as a Dutchy took a liking to him and drilled him into the wall and he ended up on his side half way down the back straight. They both didn't get back out for the rest of the meeting. Craig finnikin won it from Stuart smith jnr followed by Daniel Johnson 4th 5th 6th we're regular uk visitors to your shores lee fairhurst Frankie Wainman Jnr and Tom Harris who started off the back of the grid. Hope that fills you in but I'd say one of the Barr clan will put a more detailed version. On Sunday at Northampton they had the ministocks gold roof race and Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr won that and to be honest it was the best race of the afternoon. Bones

Are the flashing lights on some cars to do with new drivers?

Are the flashing lights on some cars to do with new drivers? The opposite from memory.........the Superstars have the flashing lights and always start from the back in normal racing (not in events like the World Final) Barry B

They drive a completely different style to us (they hit hard from behind I can tell u that haha) and I definatly couldn't see a kiwi world champ in the near future with out doin at least a whole season there.. But who would want to spend that much time in the uk haha .. Yes why isn't there a Dutch or other team in the champs at palmy?

In the UK all drivers are graded based on their performance. Each grade is signaled by the wing colour. The top guys such as FWJ and Tom Harris start at the very back and have flashing lights on their wings to indicate this. The full grades in starting order are
Whites Yellows Blues Red Superstars (Red with flashing lights)
Also the champions get certain roof colours.
European- red and yellow cheques British- White and black cheques Points- Silver World-Gold and the option of number 1.
