I think this event has benefitted from not having the Pumas and Young Guns over the past years.
The reality is that those two teams were for a time head and shoulders above the rest.
The Huntly Teams event has given the other teams an event that they could win. It has also given them an event in which they could develop the team without coming up against one of the superpowers.
If Rotorua can establish a new standard going forward it changes the dynamics of the event but whatever teams turn up in any given year this event always entertains and this year should be no exception.
Great to see Tasman on the list. It's a massive effort to get a team up to this event from the South Island.

You missed Hutchby and Gallop from the Raiders dirtman . Both the strongmen in the past... Hutchby has retired from Teams Racing. Plody will be able to shed more light on Gallop.... ? From last years raiders Caldwell - still teams racing Hutchby - retired from teams racing Gallop - having a break from racing R Neill- having break from teams at the moment Moore- still building new car Stenson- car not ready/work conmitments Vincent - availiable for teams From what i know! so it gives some new names a chance to get some teams experience with the hawkes as well this should provide plenty of experience for the future! Good luck to all teams! Go the waikato

For those of you requesting 12 teams, I'm sure this will eventually be the aim of the WSSCC, but give them time. Every additional team is an expense, and one that can only be covered by more paying patrons. They've made the jump from 8 teams to 10 this year, including one from the Mainland, so I guess if this year goes well for the club financially 12 teams may be a possibility in the near future. Barry B I don't know anything about cost to run this sort of meeting but whats the cost diff between 8 teams to 10 teams to 12 teams To get 8 teams it would be approximately 24K, to get 10 teams and 1 of them from the south I would say 32K so for 12 teams you could say to get every team there allow for 40K. That's going on what we got paid to turn up 2-3 seasons ago. Roughly 3K a team back then. That's a lot of people in the gate to cover cost and then you have the running cost of the meeting on top. BIG thumbs up the Huntly on building this meeting as I would say it is better than the NZ stockcar teams champs meeting. Just a bugger they not running Superstocks on the Saturday other wise I would see both nights. GO THE MAULERS!!!!!!!

That option was looked at, but Huntly Superstock numbers are low at present also Bernie is running his Dash for Cash over at Baypark.

Kyle is working in Nelson now and racing his superstock there as well, albeit with a V on the side. As for the Teece brothers...you'll just have to wait and see. Kyle is also teams racing at Woodford glen that weekend as he has done for the last few years.
