def over sold barry..we had our reserved spot turn 4 as one of mates work sponsors the mustangs..lady and family went to sit down and we said sorry these are resevered..he reply was all the ga seats are taken and theres no room for them so stood be side our stand As quoted from Bruce in the other seating/tickets thread, GA does not guarantee a seat. It may very well be standing room only. Don't shoot the messenger....... Barry B I don't recall ever seeing a sign that says $40.00 ticket - maybe standing room only. Unless this is plainly stated at the gate prior to people purchasing tickets then in my opinion the event is over sold. Do you have an expectation when you purchase a ticket to the movies that you will be expected to stand in the isles? My expectation when I buy a ticket to seated stadium is that it will provide me with a seat, plain and simple. Anybody who does not get a seat should get admission at a reduced rate as a minimum.

People who aren't guaranteed seats ARE given cheap tickets, they get a $10 discount and the possibility of getting a seat anyway.

Well that was a fun night watching all the racing while standing. Was at turn 1, where I was last year. Way to oversold, and need to bring in more seating somewhere, and maybe talk to telecom to put in a temp unit or more capacity because not being able to use ones phone due to overloading both last year and this wasn't cool.

Butit wasn't way too oversold, the seating should have been used for arses not bags, jackets and the like

Tell me if I'm wrong but I think some of the top part of the front straight stands are business bought or corporate booked hence why they may be a little thin on crowd. People have to realise that if there are numbered seats that it's alot more simple to buy a seat instead of hope I can get a seat. There is a place for GA but it is becoming less and less due to more and more actually planning this weekend well in advance. I know my group of mate plan in October and I'll be booking time off work on Tuesday

I know my group of mate plan in October and I'll be booking time off work on Tuesday The bleacher stand I saw that had the 14 ppl taking up the for hole four whole top rows was deffo GA, although in fairness those ppl did squash up a bit and right before the final there was 22 ppl taking up those four rows. I can see the day coming when you can pre buy your selected seat anywhere in the stadium for the premium price. but if you turn up and by your $40 ticket on the night you get given a ticket(s) with a seat #(s) on them, and you have two choices, sit on that seat or stand somewhere else. If you choose to sit in that seat then that is is your seat, not the seat next to it for your bag and the seat in front of it for your chilly bin.
