My boys while in ministocks had proper race boots, balaclavas and were not allowed to wear nylon underwear. We used Leatt neck braces and side nets. Only takes one mistake and they would live with my decision. Buy the best that you can afford, otherwise watch from the stands. Can someone tell me are these allowed to be used still in speedway? Hard to get them re-certified. (A NZ thing) Best unit out there. I trust them completely and have survived a broken neck, so chose these. They will still work even if not harnessed in, just not as effectively. Walked away from writing off the tank with no effect to the neck. When I say harnessed, I'm talking about the clip to the helmet.

They do not need a recertification in stockcars and superstocks. I have had this exact conversation with snz this off season and the rule basically says ‘approved neck braces to be used’ that is an approved neck brace. In a seperate rule it says ‘all sfi 38.1 head and neck restraints require recertification every 5 years’ so only neck braces with that spec are required the recert all other approved devices do not require a recert. Ie. foam rolls and Leatt moto R. There is a model of leatt (not the one pictured) that was condemned by leatt worldwide called the mrx pro (or something like that). Hope this helps, I also am a great fan of this device and consider its be the perfect device for stockcars. 8 years later and a little bit of teams racing and no whiplash no sore collar bones.

Yay, animal. Haven't pushed it with SNZ, but local interpretation is re-certify. Was going to take it back up once the wheels turn. Cheers Have 3 from the kids racing time.
