January 9th I believe the Super Saloons will be on show at Western Springs..
I don't know where they're going to put them in the pits. Maybe one of the regular classes is away on that date.
And I'm not sure how they'll get on with those forbidding concrete walls either, but it'll be a really good meeting that's for sure.

Great news. Was in conversation some time back with a Springs promoter for a saloon visit, but he moved on. Hopefully the date suits!

date is same date as new zealand superstock champs. so it should suit as most nothing runs same time as that meeting.

This would be one to see lap times be interesting to. This would have to be a first. Another class that would be interesting at the springs would be modifieds. Hope they get a decent turn out both cars and fans

As much as I love saloons, I will be at the superstock champs, along with 90% of the speedway family.

Plenty of details coming from promotions yet - celebrity races etc for this meeting. Sounds as though it'll be worth the wait once it's all official.

I am reliably informed that Craig Cardwell will be turning some hot laps at Western Springs this Saturday night (14th Nov) in the 8H Super Saloon

while I do like the Super Saloons WS is a bit tight for them.
Does worry me every time classes from either side races at the others track, gives the idiots on the council the idea that the two tracks could be combined into one venue.
We do not want that.

Palmy is narrower, and they race around there just fine

To be honest if you were to ask any of the "idiots on the council" where do super saloon speedway cars race? I'd be very surprised if any of them answered differently to I dunno or Western Springs. Altho I take your point when the springs classes race across town.

I remember seeing the saloons at WS many many years ago and it was not a pretty sight. They were awkward and slow, hopefully this time they make a better showing. Having seen them race at Palmy Teams and almost stealing the show, I hope they can produce another performance like that.
