interesting theory coming out of England, using 450 MX motors, www.dirtbikes.com/new-concept-f2-speedway-motorcycles/the US has a 450 class in flat track, on everything up to miles I believe, there was a bit of interest in getting a flat track class based on MX bikes going amoung the road racers over winter, anyone know why Rosebank stopped running the stock bike classes?

I can't see how they'll end up being cheaper, first you have to buy the MX bike just for the engine then build the frame to suit. There isn't really a market for the leftover parts as there are already a lot of rolling chassis from MX bikes around after their motors have hand-grenaded or the topend needs a very expensive rebuild that the owner cannot justify as the whole bike is not worth much more Using a less highly strung larger motor may be a better idea, something out of a roadbike although then you're likely to be looking at a twin, AMA flat-track runs 1000cc twins mainly on the longer tracks & the 450s on the shorter tracks from what I can tell

(or complete bike worth here) you can get 450 mx bikes for 3-4 K, and the parts to rebuild are available everywhere, there was some talk last year mainly from road racers about running a flat track race on MX bikes, the motard class is one of the bigger classes on teh street races now, and those bikes should be able to run on dirt,
