Must have been as Kevin Roberts is confirmed for the Glen eagles. Not sure where the remit came from but would have had to have been someone who was unhappy about gisborne winning the stockcar teams, pretty sure it was tied in with only 1 team per track which as we know would not apply to superstocks as they aren't an SNZ event That remit has been floating around for a couple of years now and passed this year with an amendment, the new rule is as follows: As such, it only applies to the Stockcar teams event (and only due to another remit that passed earlier in the day making the stockcar teams an allocated title). I don't think it would have applied to the Rees crew anyway as they had a definite falling out with their old club and moved to a new one on a long term basis, not simply to compete at Stockcar teams. The remit as originally submitted wouldn't have effected the Superstock teams event anyway as it still only applied to "National Title" events.

So, theoretically, for THIS particular event, a team COULD front with six drivers from other tracks.

Theoretically, a team could front for any teams event EXCEPT the New Zealand Stockcar Teams Champs with 6 drivers from other tracks. And IMO, that's the way it should stay. Otherwise we risk ruling the GB Lions out of teams racing as they don't even have a home track as far as I know. Hmm, I wonder what would happen if the GB Lions wanted to race at the New Zealand Stockcar Teams Champs. The rules only state one team per track and only one ring in per team, but what happens if a team from overseas wants to enter?

Lance Aldridge was also mentioned but I see he is down as 119m for the 240's so he could be a possible Buster as he raced for the Brawlers last year. Also if I remember correctly Stan Charman 74g put his name forward for the Giants?

Also heard Ashers old car is prepared as another car for this meeting, in case they need it.
Sounds like they have more than enough cars and drivers available.
I had also heard lance Aldridge was happy to help out of need be, and Karl Ross has definitely got a G on the car too.
Very competent team

Was talking to Karl Ross a few weeks back at Baypark and he is open to teams racing for Gisborne if they need him.

IF gisborne giants aren't allowed to field a team and with the demise of wanganui over the passed year ( hiebner , podjursky retirement and Pearson racing for the Mustangs ) who's to say wanganui won't field a team consisting of mooney, bevan humphries and the 3 reeses?

Peter Rees stated on local radio programme in Palmerston North that he would be going fishing if the Gisborne team was not at the Team Champs

Peter Rees stated on local radio programme in Palmerston North that he would be going fishing if the Gisborne team was not at the Team Champs Would only be sour grapes if Robertson didn't allow the Giants to compete this year. If the Rees have only agreed to register to Gisborne til the end of this season , what will the future hold for the Giants. Guess that's something that will be taken into account. Anyone know where the Rees will register next season Did hear a whisper lastnite , but only a rumour so best no say at this stage ..
