Although, IF they got the title it might change things. Having both the stocks and super teams titles, I wish.

Peter Rees stated on local radio programme in Palmerston North that he would be going fishing if the Gisborne team was not at the Team Champs Would only be sour grapes if Robertson didn't allow the Giants to compete this year. If the Rees have only agreed to register to Gisborne til the end of this season , what will the future hold for the Giants. Guess that's something that will be taken into account. Anyone know where the Rees will register next season Did hear a whisper lastnite , but only a rumour so best no say at this stage .. Did it start with W and end in N?

You must of heard from the same people mate YES , and heard it from three different sources . One very close to Team Rees themselves..

Gizzy surely will be there. They have 5 of the best peddlers in the business. Be a shame if the biggest event on the calendar didnt even have the biggest names in superstock teams racing make an appearence.
The thought of team rees running W next year would surely make the likes of Hemi and Dare look at welly again. Might even entice Gavin down that way too, which would only boost the wildcats team immensely.

I think you possibly need to add an 'IMHO' to the opening line of your statement HR. as stated here before, there could be any number of reasons that Gisborne isn't there - last entry in, preferential entry to those who have supported the event in the recent past (when WAS the last time a G team attended?), etc. Sure, would be great to have them there, but if there are 12 other teams (and 12 is the best number for the team format), is there a need to have the G there?

Exactly what I was getting at . Maybe if there was a longterm future of a Giants Team they may be accommodated , but unless there was a gap to fill this year I'm picking that there will be no allowances made to fit them in . And I'm willing to bet there are still a few sour grapes within Palmy over the Rees / Humphries debacle .. oh IMHO lol

Is this in your humble opinion??? IMHO - teams were apparently asked a while back (most likely at the same time as each other) to express interest in attending so a last entry in scenario is not really relevant if this is the case. Would another club be accepted to the event if they were to list Rees as team members?? Maybe its a case of wait and see on that matter should the G not be granted entry.

So with the NZs and 240s done & dusted how long is Bruce going to give teams to commit?

No he would'nt want that, and who could blame him. Pete was the one who tossed his toys last year. Pete is a good teams racer, so why should Bruce invite him back. Would you?

I figure every other team will be given as long as possible and the G will front at the last minute in their own bodies due to last minute notice.

Yes, because you're not going to fill the stadium over two nights every year with Palmerston North Panther fans. The same as if the Panthers won every single year, the place would be half empty. It's the sporting contest that keeps filling the place year after year. At the end of the day Bruce is a promoter, a business man, and decisions are more likely to be made around that than any personal indifferences. Barry B
