So hard to tell from the patchy stream but did they get away with having no injuries for a change?

So, you make an illegal hit and put the other competitor out for the rest of the meeting - surely as the prime cause you should suffer the same fate? so they have two wheels on track. and you cant see the other two wheels. how would you know they on track or grass. nope stupid idea. sorry fail to agree with you. How many wheels they had on the track was not the issue. It's how many the attacking car had over the poleline

So the way I see it from afar, the top 3 from last year have all finished LAST in their individual groups 12 months later?
And we're going to have a first time winner as none of the 4 semi finalists have won it before?

But yeah all 4 in the semis are so even, there's no clear cut favourite at the moment!

One of the best 1st nights I have seen for a long time. Hope night 2 is as good.
Thank you lots drivers, absolutely amazing. This meeting will be the best meeting of the season every year without a doubt. Atmosphere, hype, action is all there.

How many wheels they had on the track was not the issue. It's how many the attacking car had over the poleline I've not seen it - I've only read about it on here (which, as always, is completely factual, unbiased and looked at from a totally neutral perspectve - maybe this should have gone in the Tui Ads thread), but from what I've read, Harwood had two wheels over the pole line when he was hit. His FB picture appears to show the damage on the left rear quarter of the car, which suggests that he was hit towards the left, which again suggest that Hemi was further over the pole line than Harwoord was. However, it may just have been the angle Hemi went it. Some argue that you can't tell if a car is over the pole line or not...but I seem to remember a certain Nelson driver being excluded from a race result at this very event not too many years ago for dropping below the pole line during a race - a decision that effectively forced Nelson out of the running for the event.

The most used reply on the issue was that he was committed to the hit long before impact. If you assume that the 2 cars were on the track when he became committed, then moved to the infield, then if he himself were on the track he should have missed them? Also, if he was on the track and they weren't then he must have changed course of make contact? Therefore, if he never changed course then he must have been on the grass to start with
