2016 SNZ Commentator of the year Just out of interest how would a teams event stack up if drivers had to race for the nearest track to where they lived that ran Superstocks. ie: State of Origin style

Sounds good in theory, but by my reckconing 8 teams would be at risk of not making it there.

That probably answers as to why it has never happened before. I don't have an issue with tracks bringing in outside talent but if possible it would make for a darn cool title. Maybe spread the region area out into segments to make it workable.

Interesting concept, especially if it didn't try to compete with teams champs & the winner took it to their track next season. (even if only 4-6 teams)

Not sure, is there any bad blood? Anyway, there's more than one family from South Taranaki, there's the Barrs & even heard Pete Rees comes from the Naki.

Here is a scenario by region rather than track. As there are only 5 Superstock drivers available the South Island is now a singular region Auckland-Northland: 57A, 63A, 71A, 99A, 351R Waikato: 11K, 65R, 71H, 85H, 96H Bay of Plenty: 19M, 87R, 98M, 118R, 555R Taranaki 1: 26S, 52S, 66S, 75S, 82S Taranaki 2: 1NZP, 3NZP, 36P, 41S, 52P East Coast 1: 16B, 41B, 52B, 84B, 87B East Coast 2: 9B, 31P, 71P, 86B, 136B Manawatu-Whanganui 1: 58P, 74P, 88P, 94P, 971P Manawatu-Whanganui 2: 10G, 75G, 127G, 581P, 599V Wellington: 5W, 22W, 52W, 89W, 321W South Island: 5C, 10C, 16N, 29C, 99N Overseas: 591P, 84G, 217GB, 515GB, 888C/S

2016 SNZ Commentator of the year I think if it was to work for Speedway then it would need to be where a driver currently lives not where first contracted to. I am liking the regions mentioned above and there are some solid teams lineups. If SNZ grabbed hold of this idea and ran with it it has the potential to be huge and more importantly hosted by the winners each season.

Great idea but start with just two teams and emerge from that. If you pull that off then the following season include 3 and so on. I can't see it working without a few big corporate sponsors.
