hi...how do mods get into and out of gear.. do they run a gearbox and clutch... never looked...info anyone? thanks

Depends really - some run a in out dog box and clutch, others have sprint car diffs and a clutch. others run bert transmissions - internal clutch and external clutch and a very few even have normal car transmissions.

no auto's, illegal in the class.

- Clutch only such as clutch
- Gearbox with clutch (wet) built in such as Gear box

thats the oldskool method - will have a shaft inside and a single cog with a gearbox selector fork - forwards only style. one gear = go

would suit a classic mod rebuild.

thanks for the info...wont have any money to build up an oldie mod, I brought the ex 5c SS bare chassis to build up...but very keen to do one later...yes..just noticed doh...winters qc with in /out lever...as far as the width of a mod diff, are they all pretty much as wide as each other? or are there a host of things to learn there too?

essentially.... yes. maximum width of 2 metres according to the old rule book

You can get away with learning just the basics for now - your main knowledge will be in the form of setups on the rear once your suspension gets put in. its different for each mod and each driver - comes down to what you have and how you drive. no two setups are exactly the same
