Sorry to be negative nelly before racing has even started but is anyone else wondering if tonight's format might make racing more tame than your usual first night? When you are trying to win your pool, two wins will get you thru. So points are good but destroying the opposition is better because you just have to win the race. In principle nothing changes but I do wonder if we will see a more conservative approach tonight as team's look to have as many cars finish as possible to bank enough points to get through to the top four. eg, you want at least three cars to finish and ideally in the top four placings. Really hope I'm wrong but have been mulling this over the last couple of days and wondering if anyone else shares my theory. As we all know in teams racing, any plans can go out the window by the first corner because teams racing is so unpredictable so maybe I'm over thinking this but we are going to see team's who win two races miss out aren't we? Hope for all of us that I'm way off the mark.

i prefer groups, but I also prefer 14 teams to 12 because you just can't turn away anybody on a year they want to enter, as when you want them the following year to make up the numbers they might not be available due to drivers moving to another track to get their opportunity. I wish we could have 16 teams, that'd make a perfect format, but that's impossible without extra teams from existing tracks or invitation teams. Then it'd become even harder for tracks needing a ring-in to find one. There's only so many drivers want to teams race. So hopefully the format won't detract from the action at all, but you do get two more teams races tonight than you would of with 12 teams, so that might make up for it.

How about a 20 point bonus for roll overs since the teams seem be trying to conserve damage and play nicer?

Def made tame racing in a few races, it’s happened before, few years ago there was 13 teams and racing suffered.
Maybe next year they need to go back to 12 teams, top 8 from this year then other 6 teams have races during season like a qualifying tournament and top 4 get into 12 team field.
Hopefully tommorow it will step up as it’s all about 1st place now, win the semi and your in the final

True but also points will feature as worst loser drops out of top 4. Best winner in 5-8 moves up into 3rd/4th race. So affects if seeded for next year. Ultimately won’t figure to much as semifinalist want to win n make final.
