Yes...agree...It was a great way to finish the season...A big thank you to all the Saloon and Super Saloon drivers. You are a great friendly group and it is a pleasure being your class rep.
Looks like our numbers may increase quite a bit next year. I am aware of 2 drivers probably hanging up their race boots permanently, but 5 new drivers and 2 returning. It looks like we may have 24 regular cars racing - and probably more to come.
Super Saloons may also grow with 1 driver leaving to focus on another class and probably 4 new or returning drivers (and this is only confirmations so d=far for next season).
The Saloons are back....
John

Macca after a two year layoff thrilled the crowd and got a 15.52 lap Macca was in full on hoon mode, including an impressive ride (and recovery) around the wall in cemetery bend. The show he put on was worth the price of admission on its own. I can't wait to see him back next season.

A good final night of the 17/18 season. A good turn out for all grades, the track was heavy but drivey. Luke was in the high 14's. Best track of the season without a doubt. Got plenty of moisture the previous weekend (that was washed out) and without the hot days during the week to dry it out, it was spot on. Luke's best lap of the night was a 14.2, right up there with the fastest laps ever around WP in a Mod. Daniel in the 63A put in a 15.4 in only his second outing on the track. Plans for the off season include adding extra drainage on the pole lines at the corners and some more surface going on. It's arguably the best surface in NZ now and looks like getting even better.
