Yup. Didn't think it was possible to think less of a council or the people in it but there you go. Apparently one of the prerequisites NOT on the council check list is the ability to differentiate between statements and questions. Or speak for two minutes without malapropism. Or listen. percy I consider myself a patient sort but that was pretty difficult listening!

Nothing unusual, typical council understanding on local body politics and generalization of the activity that surrounds it portfolio . I did think Bill needs a speaker on his behalf that can answer direct questions and be more precise on his plans to create Colin Dale Park. The Mayor seemed more advanced on the cost than most of his team ,so i think progress will be achieved without to many delays ..

I couldn't believe the MOU hadn't been circulated prior to the meeting.
Here we have an agreement, of which the council is a party, dedicating $13 million to the Colin Dale Speedway project and the MOU wasn't provided to those in attendance until requested during the meeting. There was also confusion over the amount dedicated and whether it was confidential or not. Thankfully Mayor Goff brought some sanity to the show as that number was released on the day the MOU was signed and published in mainstream news media. Ordinary citizens knew what the number was but it seems many in attendance were none the wiser.

Agree on the speaker part, both Bill and Greg were pretty poor at addressing the questions without wandering off topic or not answering the question properly/at all. I noticed the same thing when Greg did the interview on CRC Motorsport. This is why 'Lobbyists' exist in America these days, charismatic people who are experts on certain topics and off the top of their head, can string together a well thought out sentence that answers the question. Its more of a skill than some may think, particularly when you watch people do it poorly.
Particularly, the question to Bill why Waikaraka Park was unsuitable to SPL, was a little frustrating to watch as Bill tried to explain the difference between a stockcar track and a speedway track and the classes that run on each.

What happened to the design Ron Salter had plans for out there . There was slight reference to that ,but no names were mentioned ,which was some years back if you listen to that meeting with the council ,but why go there when the Springs was not at that point of time subjected to time of closure .. By the way Jimmy J have you seen those new type of drone type aircraft on the market ,maybe just what you need to get to Colin dale park ,seen the attempts in piloting the helicopter have been taken off the agenda ..

was interesting how many times Bill was asked if there was any pressure from the RFA to move and each time Bill said no.
Different story to what was in media
Also, why were council members asking if RFA had been putting pressure on SPL? Seems like the council has no control over the RFA which is part of the council. If the RFA is going rogue then surely the council should be clearing house.

If the RFA is going rogue then surely the council should be clearing house. Many councils have various corridors of departments working for council ,but alot of this kind debate stems from the right foot not telling the left foot what is actually going on also having a spokesperson like Nisbet, who hasnt advised the finance committee of the input the rfa had been involved in . Same with the M O U agreement that had been signed prior to this meeting . The cost of the roundabout at prices road also appears on the agenda so lets hope that can be resolved as quickly as possible . An interesting topic know doubt will emerge over future plans the council has for the other speedway venue in the City ,going on this present view a good comprehensive plan needs to be in order ..

I sort of feel sorry for the ASSC. Waikaraka Park is very run down to say the least and the council has just let it go. They deserve to have some money spent on the place!

There is a clip on you tube that has the local council, and a member from wacky park at the same meeting asking the questions about why the rug was pulled from them at the last minute, and asking for more transpires with council and their meetings with both speedway promoters and council
