Anyone know why Wood got put back to last place before the start when he was meant to be on I think grid 8. Listening to the commentator it sounded like this was another race that could have possibly been canned due to the curfew. Why don't clubs make the main event the second last race? Because he came out of line & jumped the start. He had gained like 5-6 spots by the first corner!

The lap record is 12.68 secs.Jamie Duff winning one of the earlier races clocked a 13.4 sec lap.The track went from drivey to slick from pole to mid track with a reasonable cush and heavy from mid track to the wall. The heavy caught a few and so did the lumpy bit coming out of turn 2.But there were options out there.Buddy didn't win all the races but got most of them. There was good showings from Jamie Duff (whom got the set up wrong in the salute to Goodie) plus Jamie Larsen,Matt Leversedge,Matt Honeywell and Rodney Wood at times.Mixed bag for the rest of the drivers including DanieL Anderson who drove right over Nigel Colvin going into turn one the result was cartwheels in the air and the end of his night. See what happens tommorrow night for Gold cup. Thanks for that. Awesome. What happened to jmac? Interesting to hear young buddy broke the right rear shock when he rode the wall on about lap 9. Was a sketchy ride and a degree of luck there to come away nearly Intact. Had a DNS in his first heat as commentators said it was a spark plug failure. Went good through the heat & ended up qualifying last in the feature. Started 16th & just passed for 4th until got hit & damaged from another car.

Can Someone tell us what the story is behind the Gold Cup? Strange thing is this meetings not advertised on the ruapuna website, I went looking for a start time, Nothing there.

Gold cup is on Ruapunas web site.Starts at 6 p.m.History behind it was started 17 years ago mainly to attract North island competitors when Ruapuna did not have any NZ Sprintcar titles granted to them because of SCB title rotation system.

How does jmac get a release from mosen to race? Ws are on tonight.
Good on him. Always travels and supports the other tracks. Some of those other Auckland racers could learn a lot from jmacs attitude here.👍

Won it last year in what I think was his first meeting back from THAT crash. Great to see him at Ruapuna where he always makes times for his south island fans

Absolutely woeful driving from Jamie Larsen, final lap of the race with Keegan leading and he tried a move that had about a 1% chance of success on the last corner and both cars rolled with Keegan going very high over the top of Larsen’s car,Keegan absolutely ropable heading towards Larsens car

Freak of a driver
18 laps into the feature he will over half a lap ahead and had lapped up to around 8th place I think, then Leversedge had a huge roll and In the remaining 12 laps opened up 10 seconds and lapped more cars, think he was close to lapping MacDonald near the end

I have seen quite a few Americans run at Ruapuna including Sammy Swindell but none in the class that Buddy Kofoid is.We all look with interest at the coming Sprint car season in States because this young guy is going to be right at the top.Larsen taking Keegan into the wall what can you say desperate stuff.Unfortunately Keegans night was done with chassis damage but Larsen was repaired to make the Gold cup feature which he got 2nd.Another good night of racing in front of a large crowd of spectators. Two of the best performers tonight were Rodney Wood and Caleb Baughan 3rd and 4th in the 30 lap Gold cup.Especially Baughan who had a top end misfire in his engine all night.Roll on Tuesday for the NZ Grand prix at Invecargill then the NZ'S at Cromwell.

I agree with leaving the lapped cars in, the driver has had to do a lot of work to get past them so the other guys should have to do the same
