Below you will find all the information you are going to need heading into this event,

gates open at 2 PM
4 pm race starts.

Greymouth

Gates open at 2 pm

(No Practice as per SNZ rules change)

Day 1 is stockcars, 6 groups, 3 races each,

Day 2 stockcars, youth ministocks, Productions, (No Modifieds anymore)

please find attached in the images a MAP of Greymouth, with markings on how to find the track from the Bridge (Cobden Bridge, Main bridge in Greymouth off the highways)

The club has decided that it is not going to be any pre-sale tickets on sale. we have Efpos at the gate, Cash would be faster tho,

if you are coming from away, (North island, deep south) and you haven't been to our town before. I would suggest bringing sunscreen as the sun here is very harsh on the skin even when its windy and feels cool it will burn badly.

when we are not racing, what type of things could you do if you have little ones and would like to view what the coast has?

we have a few things, we have a pool with hydra slide. good fun for kids we also have Shantytown, it's a little history place about what it was like on the coast back in the gold and coal rush days, with a working steam train that you can ride on, plus a bar. to drink at.
jade carving in the town center, plenty of food and drink places to spend some time, Mcds and KFC and subway and domino pizza, plenty of Fish N Chip shops. new world. and countdown,

Pancake rocks and blowholes are always a nice outing to view and is about 25 to 30 mins north heading to Westport. it's a busy stop-off for busses. plus a glowworm cave

Hokitika is about 35 mins south of Greymouth and also has some awesome family things to do. they have the Kiwi Center, with a very old fish, big fish, old fish, very cool place to go, they also have glass blowing,

** Seating, Plenty of seating around turn 3 and 4 and along the front straight, But do bring things to sit on, IE deck chairs, or Pillows. and Maybe a Blanket, no normal seating, however, we have concrete seating,

There will be NO Parking Inside the track as we normally have on other meetings,

Plenty of Food and Drink vans will be on site. plus the clubs own food shop out of the clubrooms,

The bar will be open after the racing in the clubrooms we have a range of drinks and Non-alcoholic drinks and food. (Alcohol will not be sold to underage persons)

Yes you may bring your own food and drink, (No Alcohol)

Please do not bring your dog, this is a loud sport with loads of people who may not feel safe around your dog, please leave all dogs at home

Well my wife and I leave for our South Island trip tomorrow culminating at Greenstone Park for the NZ's.
Craig - is there a museum in Greymouth? Were kinda history buffs so would like to have a look. Thanks and looking forward to the hospitality of the West Coast.

Try and get out to Shantytown for a bit of history. I was born down there but moved early enough to not remember anything like a museum but there will be 1

Hi,
The local history house has closed down due to the building being unsafe, but, there are loads of history to be found in this town,
Shantytown is a Big history park, loads of history going on out there, great walk around,
also have Brunner mine site, that's a 10 min drive from Greymouth inland, its a great walk around and tells alot about the coal mining on the coast.

The first day on friday is fine but the saturday and sunday say rain.Could they do it on the thursday and have the finals on friday or would they make the call to reschedule it by tomorrow or wednesday if the weather prediction doesnt change.

Rain date is Sunday - entry form is publicly available on the SNZ website

Clearly with the level of preparation and travel involved, moving the title a day forward is not an option

The weather forecast for the coast isn’t prarticularly predictable or accurate.

For instance at the NZGP there 5 years ago there was rain forecast both days and the meeting was awesome.

Will find some footage on you tube - you can see the rain in the hills behind but the track was unaffected.

Just come on over for Friday and Saturday and you’ll have a great time

The club have a meeting tonight where the forecast will be raised, as observer and myself know well, the coast weather is very changeable, if the weather forecast pattern slows then we should be good for both days, the club can't control the weather, the folks are flat out getting things in order for everyone's arrival, I know the coffee is good and they make a mean bacon buttie, it was a huge weekend in Wanga's for the supers, lets have another in Greymouth this week,

No problem with Friday. Rain will arrive in the evening on Saturday, but with a 4pm start it may be possible to get through before the rain arrives. Its marginal. Worst case would be rain starting an hour or two after meeting start time. Sunday will see the rain clearing early to mid afternoon, so a 4pm start could be possible if the track is in raceable condition.

no dont think so ,doesnt get dark until around 10pm on the coast anyway
