Hi, If you take a copy of the SNZ rules to any engine builder, and do strictly what is allowed, (it should cost between $2600 and $2900), you will get around 55hp AT THE WHEELS. Real speed after that comes from setup in the corners.

At the speeds some of us are going there is no way we only have 55 horses under the bonet so what are you on about?

Horespower at the wheels is different to horsepower at the engine. You lose a lot through your drive train remember.

Horsepower output from the engine and horsepower output through the driven wheels can see loss of anywhere between 10 and 20%.

I guratee mine is bout 74 horses, i hav the dyno sheets in my cardboard if u wanta chek Dynos are not the exact science that everybody thinks. While they play an important role in analysing the performance of an engine across the power range, they are still dependent on the the human thats running it and the quality of dyno the engines being run on It is not unusual to have a disparity of upto 15% in the output fiqure for the same engine running a different dyno. At the end of the day,the horsepower fiqure helps you feel better about whats under the hood, but fiqures dont get results teams do.

dead rite, and its not all about the size its how you use it. lol there are other factors to make you go alot faster its not just horsepower

to be honest with you, i think the main factors to becoming a success in ministocks comes down to set up lines and the way you drive. engines help. but hows having a fast engine going to help a car that goes up on 2 wheels in everycorner or a driver that doesnt know left from right.
