R.I.P. Pete. A huge loss to not only the Macgor's website, but a huge loss to speedway in general. One of a kind.

I don't normally contribute to RIP threads, but I'm saddened to hear of the passing of Pete. A man with a passion and loyalty rarely seen.

Very sad news, I just hope Pete realised how much he was respected and appreciated by our speedway community.
Pete was certainly put through the wringer in recent times and there is some solice in that he is no longer suffering.
R.I.P Pete and condolences to Nicola and their nearest and dearest.

I was deeply saddened, but not surprised to hear this news yesterday. Pete was a force of nature around speedway, a man with an absolute passion for the sport, and for the craft of capturing images. The Go Slideways TV page on Macgors is a legacy to him, with some wonderful memories there for all to view. As I got to know Pete over the years, I came to appreciate his loyalty and dedication. He loved speedway, and the people involved, plain and simple. That he had a visit at home from Peter Rees in his last days is a mark of respect as to how the speedway community respected and valued him. He was especially passionate about Harrisville Speedway, and only missed the Winged Thunder meeting this year because he was too Ill. During the commentary Stu Russell and I mentioned his absence, and sent our best wishes. A couple of days later I was touched to get a message from Nicola saying that several people has told Pete he’d been acknowledged, and he was really chuffed and appreciative.. I send my deepest condolences to Nicola, to Pete’s whanau, and to his many speedway friends. Pete was one of a kind, and we are unlikely to see his like again. Rest peacefully my friend.
