Interesting to see a Speedway NZ remit, next season will be the last season of GPs so North Island and South Island titles can be made bigger and a bit lest congestion on the calender, good to see. There is a God... Well there will be if it gets thru. Signed Soon to be former agnostic either way. Lower Hutt 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Percy, In the first post, under Sidecar, New Zealand, Palmerston North, the date should be 23rd & 24th February 2024, (Not 2023)

Woodford Glen gets 2 Gps 5 Island Titles while 4 other South island clubs get none someone explain how thats fair Things like overall fairness, geographical spread and any one track getting a heap of titles all in the one season (at the expense of others) have nothing to do with the new allocation model. It's 100% data driven (and that data is simply 'whose turn is it next?' for each and every title, irregardless of what else they might already have that season, with basically no human input to ensure common sense prevails). That's my personal opinion of it anyway, based on what has been allocated for the 2023/24 season and taking into account that this is only Year 1, and the things that have been mentioned in the thread above will only multiply as the years go by. Barry B All of those things are everything that was wrong with the old system - you have to have a precise formula for how something is allocated, not just mess around with it as you feel. If you have fulfilled the criteria to hold an event, how is it fair to then give it to someone who hasn't?? If you have 5 titles in one year, you must have done a good job, if you have none, you must need to do better. This is a microcosm of what is wrong with this country - now people even want "everyone gets a prize" Socialism in SNZ rules as well...

So you'd be happy to see Western Springs have the NZ title, the GP and the NI title for Sprintcars, Midgets and TQ's all in the same season, while across town at Waikaraka Park they host the same three championships for Superstocks, Stockcars, Modifieds, Super Saloons and Saloons? Fostering the sport means means trying to grow every class at every track that runs the class, as well as introducing classes to new venues, and that helps in assisting more competitors into each and every class which equates to a more widespread and more competitive sport overall, something every paying spectator, promoter and sponsor wants. The allocation format we currently have has NOTHING to do with whether a club is doing a good job or not. It's merely whose turn is it next? And no promoter would want 5 major NZ titles in one season and none the next. You can attract better crowds and make more money if they were spread over 4-5 years, not to mention putting on an event worthy of it's status. Barry B
