Stanley sadly passed away on Saturday. Will be greatly missed. A genuine good bloke who was actively involved in some way or other for, in my memory, 40 odd years and leaves a big hole in the many peoples lives that he had contact with. He had been unwell for some time so at least he is at rest now.

Sorry to read this sad news, although as you've written Graeme, at least he's at rest now. He was already an institution when I first became involved at Waikaraka Park in the late eighties, and will be missed by many.

Didn't know him well but it's testament to his passion for speedway when he bailed me up in a supermarket in Manukau a couple of years ago as I was wearing a speedway related T shirt. Had a good old discussion while waiting to be served. Nice guy. Sad to hear of his passing.

A true and great friend was Stanley ,it was only weeks ago he and a friend paid us a visit up north . His boys informed us of his where abouts ,i had thought the little general would cut the grade once more ,but that unfortunately was not to be . RIP Stanley the 18 of May will be remembered forever ...
