Is it just me or does Taranaki have a very high number of racers who won't race at Stratford or have left the club? If you agree then any idea why? What's going on down there?

heard some left because they believed they had "big setups" and didn't like to be told where to park in the pits

Better racing in Palmy, great venue and well run meetings and i think because palmy and stratford are normally racing on the same night is why you dont often see them racing at their home town, the promotor run tracks tends to suit some drivers more as they tend to want to stay away from the politics and things that come with racing at a club run track, they just want to turn up and go racing, also bit of an incentive to racing in palmy is 4 free entry passes per car each meeting and the prize money tends to be better than most tracks
And that is no disrespect to stratford as it is an awesome track to race at and really good bunch of people, some things suit other people more.
As they say, run your own race

Lets forget about who is racing outside Stratford and get excited about this season. Does anyone know who is in the Scrappers squad for this season.

I haven’t seen the most recent numbers but I think Stratford have been one of the tracks with the largest competitor numbers around? Which suggest the club is in a strong position despite some small changes

Taranaki has punched well above it's weight from opening day in all classes . Speedway is a family and as with families personalities do clash from time to time and not every one dines at the same table People race out of other tracks than their closest one for many varied reasons. Taranaki is not stand alone in this issue, unlike schools we are not zoned but free too roam. Hope the speedway with a future,[ new track designated in new Motorsport Park ] has a successful season and many more to follow.

Rumour has it and only rumour, as much chance of putting together a team as Labour has of winning the next election. Being the eternal optimistic, the amber and black team will be on the grid this season to carry on years of Scrappers tradition .
