It’s shaping up as a massive night at Oceanview on Saturday night.
First up, the Flat Track bikes are making their first appearance at Wanganui for the second annual North versus South challenge. Then there’s the West Coast Sidecar and Production Saloon titles, both of which have drawn excellent fields.
Today we’ve added two Stockcar teams races between the Stratford Stormers and the Wanganui Vulcans, the first of which will be for the Rees Shield. With Stratford postponing the West Coast Stockcar Teams event there will be a stack of Stockcars looking for somewhere to race, plus Superstocks and Youth Ministocks to round out the programme.
Racing starts at 6pm, and it will be our first chance to welcome and acknowledge our two 3NZs, Zane Dykstra and Cody Lockett.

The programme for tomorrow night just keeps growing. The Club had a call from the Streetstock guys today. With the GP at Stratford now being one night only (tonight) there were guys at a loose end tomorrow, especially the South Islanders including the new 2NZ & 3NZ. “Can we come and play at your place?” They asked. “Why not?” we replied.
So now there really is something for everyone at Oceanview tomorrow night…

No rain yet, I mean it's probably a bit windy to rain much if at all to be honest, should be all go Correct; it's breezy now, but the wind is forecast to change to the west in the afternoon and drop a bit. We had a few spots of rain around 7am, but that's all. There's even a bit of blue sky as I type this Superstock field is now 18 cars including 2NZ Blair Uhlenberg and 3NZ Zane Dykstra. Stratford goes 2 for 2 in another brutal teams race with huge hits going in all over the place. 3nz got held up with a lap to go and the Stratford driver just hung in there and hung in there to take it. That just wets the appetite for nxt weekend that's for sure, 1 can only hope that racing is anywhere that good in Palmy!

Andrew’s driven derby cars, but it was his first time in a Superstock. He won the drive in a charity auction. He did really well, finishing on the lead lap in the first two heats, then had a half-spin in Heat Three but still completed the race. It was great to have 2NZ and 3NZ on hand, and they had a fantastic battle in the second heat with Uhlenberg raking the win by less than a second. Hope you enjoyed your night at Oceanview.
