The old wall is already coming down... The new portion of wall will also have red and orange LED lights recessed into it as was done with the wall that was constructed last winter. With 360* of red lights at around eye level, drivers will have no excuse for not stopping when the red lights are activated!

Have always thought that the lip at the base of the wall should take some of the sting out hitting it due to simple physics

Dont always assume clubs have the financial ability to rebuild walls at the flick of your fingers ..

It’s certainly a huge investment for any club to make, but in Wanganui’s case it needed to be done so the WSSC is making it happen. It’s certainly going to futureproof Oceanview Speedway . It should also make for an outstanding New Zealand Stockcar Championship in a few tears time.

Nice will be good with a new wall, Its about time some other tracks like Rotorua and Huntly do the same thing there walls are horrendus There have been lots of discussion historically on this subject re Rotorua putting a lip on their wall. As an ex-driver "grindy" you would know better than most. There's arguments both ways however I remember Sonja jumping in a couple of times to argue for the status quo so you won't see any change at Paradise Valley in the future.

Well done to Wanganui for investing into the future i look forward to the NZ Stockcar Champs
I suggest anyone to go for a walk or a grand parade around Rotorua or huntly the wall is very rough and beaten up not smooth at all. Huntlys wall is patchs on patches some that stick out against the flow of the traffic Its only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured by the pit gate at rotorua where the wall sticks out

being blinded by the light ,i honestly cant remember how many times being involved in repairing the wall at Waikaraka park over the years as a volunteer ,even used shot crete ,,it turned out pretty sweet ,as it seems the critics cant see past there nose ... Ive seen good repairs and some shocking repairs, the ones that stick out against the flow are dangerous definatley stops the wall riding you sometimes will see the superstocks do in palmy when they run too wide Dont see many cars run the wall in rotorua because the walls that rough it normally results in a bent rim and flat tyre
