Hi there, just had a look and seen your posting, will dig out some shots for you, do you want to pm me an email address and I will send them through? Yes...the flame thing certainly took on didn't it, and they still look cool today. Rex and I always prided ourselves over the years that even if the race car looks well presented when it was travelling to the track your sponsors were getting good coverage and if it was broken down in the middle you were still honouring your commitment to promote your sponsors. People think it is $$'s that make a car look like that but honestly, it is just time, we were fortunate enough to have a chromer as a sponsor so the chroming was by way of that but everything else was just purely time week after week. Thanks for the nice comments, Rex still gets a buzz out of those that appreciate the cars he has prepared.

Hey Del, Thanks for replying to the post, I havent started the drawing yet as im working out what angle I want to draw. Any photos would be great of that car thanks Del, but a bonnet shot would be awesome.
Yes you guys always did alot for shaping the sport in the mid 90's along with the proffesional Rotorua contingent.
I was most happy in 2001 when Rex made a return to the track in his old car and the 2 NZ champs I went to watch him at those 2 champs. 02 was extremly good after Rex nearly not making the meeting then nearly getting 3nz. Thanks Topcat team

The Rex Neild 88R Hot Rod certainly turned the image of professionalism in A-Grade stockcar appearance in the 90's which has definately continued on to today. The car was alway emaculate in presentation, always stood out and looked awesome next to 94R - The Hobbsy machine, former Rumney car which went onto win National titles, NZ's and 240's. Those two cars in there day were very fast and you could hear the flowmasters at there best, a sound that you will never forget.
To Rex and Adele, they did a wonderful job whilst at Rotorua with the car. The tow wagon back in the day stood out and I still have fond memories of the 88R, a car that will go down in history as one of the best looking cars ever. I still have the blue t/shirt with the print and a framed picture still on the wall.
