Yes, The Ex Bill Dorn 8p car is being restored at the moment.

There have been a couple of threads before, may still be down the pages. I am not sure how many cars Gary built for others if any, I think he only had two that he raced. The first possibly went to Nigel Bradbury when Gary built the second car, that of course went to Bill Dorn and on to a few others.    |

Gary built 3 x maybe 4 cars. I had the Bruce Harris V8 Ford car after my Hemi Car. Bill Dorn got the 2nd Chev car don’t know where the first Chev car went. Then there was the Cresta powered one but not sure if this didn’t turn into Bruce Car repowered with the V8. Along with Noel Phipps we built the Hemi powered 31A in the Harris Workshop at the same time Gary was building the 2nd Chev car. We had a lot of big Ollie burgers and heaps of laughs in that time. N.

#2 Built by Gary and Bob. Raced by Gary then sold as a rolling chassis to a local (Aucklander) who crashed it in pit bend at Waikaraka and bent the chassis The name Mike Ransfield springs to mind as the local that crashed it. I think he had jammed a Jag V12 into it . The crash featured on a Majik(sp) video I think and clearly showed the chassis bending . Pretty sure that was an ex Murray Robinson chassis |

Some information I have found on the cars built There were 6 in total #1 Built by Gary and Bob Harris: Raced by Gary then went to Bruce Harris then sold to  #2 Built by Gary and Bob. Raced by Gary then sold as a rolling chassis to a local (Aucklander) who crashed it in pit bend at Waikaraka and bent the chassis unsure as to whether it was repaired or where it went after this. #3 Built by Gary. Raced by Gary sold to Bill Dorn #4 Built by Gary and Bruce Harris. Raced by Bruce Harris sold to Nigel Bradbury then to #5 and #6 were kit cars engineered by Gary and Bruce Harris and sold as a kitset to: Barry Dixon & John Prebicievich The #1 car went to Ray Chatfield at one stage, has to be the #1 car with the A35 body as the other car went to Nigel and after that I will have to research. I think the #2 car was totalled and scrapped after the crash mentioned above and by Gordon. I thought there may have been a couple more, but all good things get copied.  I sold the ex Bruce Harris car to Ray Chatfield NB |
