Anyone know the history of Gary Harris stockcars? Bill Dorn had one, where there many built? Any pictures?  |

There have been a couple of threads before, may still be down the pages. I am not sure how many cars Gary built for others if any, I think he only had two that he raced. The first possibly went to Nigel Bradbury when Gary built the second car, that of course went to Bill Dorn and on to a few others.    |

One of those cars would be cool to restore. I guess they are scrap metal now. Your old man had one Matty, the one that i ran at WP as 32a about 10 years ago before I purchased the ITM car that became 32a. I sold it to Paul at Wellsford and he ran it a Whangarei for a few seasons. Don't know where it went from there but I did hear he wrecked it beyond repair in a big crash at northland somewhere. |

Wasnt a Harris, it was built by Noel Hawthorne way back when.

would that be your dad (Paul) in the 89a overalls with he's foot up on Gary's car there Matthew?

and yes it would be good to restore one of these cars as I had one myself in the mid 80's maybe even reproduce one.

this is a harris built car. the last stars n stripes car of bill dorn. i believe before this car there was the coupe bodied car which has a very similar chassis.(was also a stars n stripes car). Attachments:

Hi, the car Sandy is talking about was built by Paul Harris here in Palmy North, with Bills help I think.
A very good car, but sorry to spoil the party - not a Garry Harris car.

Paul Harris was crewing for Bill and the two of them got together and built that wee flatty (EA Powered) after the Ford V8 Coupe became too old and damaged to be competitive.
Def NOT a Gary Harris car!!!
Paul went onto his own career racing Superstocks out of Palmy as 19p.
