Weather hit during the presentations, so the very large crowd in attendance was very lucky to see the feature race.
I'm sure Murray Guy will post all the results, but the Feature went to Steve Williams from Steve Louden and Scott Landsdowne. Phil Towgood was only 4th, so Williams has quite dramatically closed the gap with just the one round to go at Rotorua tonight.
Very interesting to hear an interview with a rather high-profile Baypark Saloon racer too, suggesting we could see an H on his car sooner rather than later. Another one flees the coup?

I think Paul Cressy (45M) is the only mount car racing in the DHL series
unless someone else made the trip over for tonight - were other Saloons racing in Huntly tonight?

Well BOP as you keep telling us matamata is "speedway central" for H, BP, KK & R and as many drivers come from over your way it wouldn't be that hard for them to look at their options for racing. Shame for BP (well me and all the other BP locals) to lose 1 (or more?) as the standard is high here (4 of the top 5 at the NZs).

Mark Newall from Dunedin was impressive, new to the track he gave it everything and not afraid to mix it with the north island guns. 47 laps of racing two heats, two sprint races and the final and not one yellow light, well done the the drivers and the great attitude of racers. Yes that interview did surprise me and i am sure he would be a welcome addition to the ranks. didn't see that coming but we will see if it happens.
SSSShhhhs Murray you could have asked me to breathe in,

I could probably be a bugger and not say a word, but since the comment was made over the PA, it's hardly top US Government level security. ;D ;D ;D

So it won't really matter who it is/was...........

interesting to see 94d black flagged in 1st race for smoking .yet in 2 next races he smoked more in fact in last race he smoked so much rossco couldn't see were he was going for the whole race .which was bad enough for him as it was driving a replacement chev instead off his ford ;Apparently he had to be given mouth to mouth resuscitation by mintie . in the productions that beamer smoked so much he ran out of oil . ;D don't think there was a 13m in the crowd .bop. 13r . lots off r & m & a & 2k people there .lalas new stockie .was surprised he wasn't b/flagged for noise .was shaking the cutually ;D track was defiantly 8 out of 10 mintie . hic

My first trip to Huntly for many years (8ish) and was very impressed at how the place looked.
Racing was good in most classes. I would have to agree with MG about his competitor of the night. Trotter had most eyes on him in the two races he did, and not just cause its prob the most unique looking stockcar in NZ.
Ministocks were pretty good, although still seems to be a lot of contact out there.
Saloons had some close racing and I found the battles for 2 thru 5-6 placings were great.
A quick 6 hour drive home at meetings end saw us sleeping thru New Years Day
