Hi all following on from my last post re 1nz Shane Mcintyre getting out of hand and going on to be blocked. As the intent of the post was to praise and congratulate him, what other champion doesnt deserve praise???
Please feel free to pm me and or email me with the way we ran the event as Rays post stated we havent debriefed yet and were unaware as to some events taking place, but with the help of comments from Supporters, crews and spectators from all over NZ we can improve on things such as alcohol etc, and continue to strive towards Cromwell and speedway the place to be. Our plan is to also put together a booklet for the NZ Supers to hopefully follow the title as to what was good and bad and hopefully tracks that hold this prestigious event can continue on from this and add to it to continually grow the grade and know what works and what doesnt.
Thanks for everyones comments be good or bad but we are all learning and we will strive to improve on this.
Kind Regards Phil Burgess Promoter

Hi Phil,
Good to see the new posts that wasn't tied to Shane Macs posts.
I wasn't there but I know a few were there. Sounds like a good meet. If u think you can run a NZ champship and be un-scrutinised you are prob nieve. Take what you can from the posts. It's actually nice for a promoter to do that rather than just go negative.
From how your team run that meet I will be keen to come down for the sprintcars next year. Especially if there are a few other meets close to it.

Hi Phil For us poor blokes who couldnt be at your meeeting... it would be nice if the " Cromwell" internet site was updated..I looked at it all week with no updates...... Or is it that I am too long on the perch to see them hidden somewhere I am sure many people like me would love to follow the results, comments etc from the 1st night... as well as the finals.. I know you guys have been busy.. but you mentioned some feed back would be good.. PS.....if running the site is a problem... I might be able to help there !! Cheers Wiseowl

We went down to Cromwell for the NZ saloon Champs. And the racintg was well done. The Fight that everyone was talking about, Happened Right next to Us. What happened was 2 guys , who were Drunk, decided to release the handbrake on there Falcon and moved down the Hill. almost running over someone. Anyway the Fight broke out between the drunks partners and Friends they were all from the same party. The Fire crew only was brought over, because the Girl who had been run over complained her leg hurt.. But the Fire crew were helpless in stopping the Fight. At that point we decide to Leave. These clowns were not Even locals But from Dunedin, was I spoke to one of them Hours ago, Before they had drunken too Much. that was the only part that spoiled the meeting. Perhaps if they Banned Cars from entering grounds would a Start.

For those of us that posted in the earlier threads, do we need to re-send our comments to you personally Phil? Or have you already noted those?

A website is worth zip if its not going to be used for anything other than window dressing and its worth even less when it looks like a dogs breakfast.

Ill say im very much a cromwell supporter and past member and driver ect and find that im not digging the website much at all.I know how much effort you put into speedway as a whole gavin but the website is many peoples way of keeping up with the clubs progress and results of racing.I have limited knowledge of websites but did build and run a very simple one for the club and tryed with phils help to put regular imformation and change front page info and pictures to keep it fresh. It is very time consuming as i do understand but its also very much got to happen.Dont know if anyone in nz land can help you out to share the burdon as its obvious your stetched for time with your other comitments in speedway.great work with the photos you post on your own site.

yep your right about work and family it all takes time and effort.I spent so much of my time building cars ,coaching youth and racing then helping with track, website and numerous other tasks that my family only really saw me on rce days and going to meets out of town.Have really enjoyed my 20 odd years in speedway but have enjoyed my last 3 doing very little racing.
