A massive well done to FWJ on bringing the 240's back to the UK (again). Barry, Marty where are you now ;D I did predict on the top three predictions thread that our boys would team up for the win and it came true. Tom and Stuart were there to clear the road for FWJ in the last race following a pre race discussion and it worked like a charm Dark horses in the Teams Champs - I wouldn't bet against it. A MASSIVE well done to Stuart, Tom and of course Frankie!

And Mark Taylor took a lot of damage in that last race keeping the Rotorua Drivers occupied and off Frankie kept us busy in the pits most of the night

A massive well done to FWJ on bringing the 240's back to the UK (again). Barry, Marty where are you now ;D Massive effort, he earned every point in that third heat, as he always has too, and my opinion of him formed in the UK in 1989 certainly hasn't changed. I was a fan then, wrote as much in NZDTR that year, and nothing has changed 20 years later. I must dig my pics out from that trip.......

For all the years Frankie has been racing over here it dosen't get any easier for him. I am not sure if in the later stages of the third heat the other Brits were actually helping or hindering. Tom Harris in an attempt to clear the way actually had Frankie into the wall, and a couple of other moves didn't go as planned. Frankie, diplomatic as always when talking to the public, thanked them for their support and said they were training for the Teams. Congratulations Frankie, an awesome victory.

Well done you Poms!
Seems Frankie Wainman & co outsmarted us and kicked our buts – gulp!
Reading all the positive feedback this was a clearly a great show.
But wait a minute – back to that result? Isn’t this a humiliating defeat for kiwis? Moreover it’s the 3rd time a Pom has won one of our premier events. Surely something wrong here isn’t there? Superstocks are uniquely kiwi so the plan is one of our guys has to win.
With 20 odd kiwis and only a hand full of internationals is it possible that the kiwi’s pilots were too self-seeking, disjointed, and perhaps lacked a collective strategy?
Is Pete Rees the only one who understands the ‘bash-the-Poms-first’ mentality?
Do local club loyalties and overseas friendships come before New Zealand patriotism?
I understand that this is not teams racing but surely in an any international event, with the numbers heavily in our favour, the goal is to put aside personal clubs loyalties, forget payback mentality, and work together, at least to the point of making sure these overseas invaders are knocked out before they get a chance to steal all the glory? And in our own back yard too – it’s a bitter pill to swallow.
Anyway it’s all too late now. Well done again to Frankie and co for winning - enjoy it. But to be honest I hope our guys wise up and make sure that the Poms don’t get away with this undesirable result ever again.
