Just be there, if they are starting 30+ cars again it will be another awsome night of superstock racing.
I presume Murray Harrison will be having a run, quite a few aother UK drivers in the pits at Rotorua too that are out here supporting the troops.

hopefully not to stupid of a question but what is the difference from a 240 to a 248 apart from the extra 8. from what i have assumed, when palmy had the world 240's (which Rotorua now have the rights to) the engines were only aloud to be up to 240ci, since a few years back they changed the rules which alow the engines to be up to 248ci, so since plamy lost the "world 240's" when Scotty Mires left promotion, Palmy still wanted to have there own championship like the World 240's, So since world 240's was taken they named it 248's and just aded the "global Challenge" insted of world i guess? So really to anser your question, it was a rule change that allowd more Cubic Inch in the engine, so we could go from 240ci (max) to 248ci (max) Hope that makes sence? please correct me if im wrong at all

Hey Pallmall from what I heared Murray isnt coming to NZ as is too busy with work. The team is what is on the site (Waiman Jnr, Smith Jnr, Tom Harris, Mark Taylor) but take Murray out and put Mick Harris in (Toms dad).
Chris, Paul Urlich was racing 32p Graeme Barr's car on Saturday night and was flying, picked up a 1st, 2nd & 3rd!

OK, I knew Paul Harrison wasn't coming, hadn't heard any thing on Murray Harrison (no relation) not coming. Saw Mick at Rotorua, how long since he raced? Also Peter Falding, James Lund, and a couple of others were there. Maybe Kev Smith will change his mind and teams race for the British Lions if somebody will give him some sponsorship?

Mick was racing last season in the uk - as far as I know he has been for the last few years! I can confirm, from the horses mouth so to speak, that Kev WILL NOT be part of the British Lions team. The drivers I believe are part of the team are, Stu Smith, Frankie Wainman jnr, Tom Harris, Mick Harris and Mark Taylor. I think all the drivers are taking part in the Global challenge this weekend as well. HTH

I understand Marcia, it was great to see Kev going so well at Rotorua, especially on Friday night. To stay ahead of the 2NZ car shows the car is hooked up and going well.

Yip i would have 2 agree, kev was going really well at the 240s on the friday night, had bit of a mixed bag on saturday night and was punting some cars out the way which was awesome 2 see, and it looks like he finally got rid of that lil engine mis that was lingering around! Would be an awesome asset 2 the mustangs come teams in couple of weeks.

Just on the subject of Kev Smith
I have noticed in Palmy this season his punt and pass tactics and how well he is driving. The has taken on board this season a very mongrel driving style and this was the case in Rotorua, where he was a very standout driver.
We were rolling through the pits and told him a few times it was his night and how much of a good driver he is. Very darkhorse and dangerous at these meetings and hopfully a title goes his way soon. Very nice guy to talk too and claims he is no pom, and calls himself 'Kiwi Kev', but him and his family really seem to be enjoying themselves & me and my crew are all 64p supporters
Luck was not with him as much on the Saturday, but still can be very proud of his efforts.
On the subject of the 248's ... Cant wait for that one!

I have to agree with you on that one Pall Mall, It was the first time I have seen him in action and I thought he drove some really smart races. And probably just as well he is not in the GB team as he would be a handful.

I am fortunate to have seen Kev race in England when I was living there for a while, and I have seen him race out here in loaner cars at Palmy when he came for the 240/248s. I have been waiting to see him race his own NZ car knowing that he is a top notch driver and it was great to see everything coming together on the weekend. I know he has said no teams racing, and that is fair enough.
