I noticed in the list on the palmy website for the 248s that Dale Ewers isnt on there.. Anyone know why?
Also not to long ago there was a thread about designing the paint job on Dave Tarrants 57p superstock.. is this still happening?

I am pretty shore that the design has been done, im not to sure. I have also noticed that most of the drivers are realy local or close and also there is only a few South island drivers making the trip up. Why only so many?

also there is only a few South island drivers making the trip up. Why only so many? 5 from Nelson and 2 from Christchurch, I thought that wasn't too bad myself? Plus Ewers if his entry has been missed out for some reason. It's more South Islanders than were at the World 240's in Rotorua last weekend.

Could say the same about the lasck of North island cars for the NZ's. I guess money work commitments etc all come into it

He's done many miles, many big meetings, the teams champs are a priority, he owes his family some time, it's the Nelson club champs on the 31st, he drove a race with no power steering in Rotorua and thought his arms were going to fall off and there's something brewing that will cost a fortune to fulfil ... lots of good reasons ;D

Five clearances were given to all the drivers who wanted to attend this meeting. I know that Brett Nicholls never went up because of lack of pit crew amongst other things. Not sure why the others decided not to go. Maybe wear and tear from the NZs and Grand Prix, Who knows. Higgy was not intending to go to this meeting purely because of financial reasons so I am told. I think that someone had decided to help out the 3NZ because of his success of late. The fact remains that every driver that asked for a release for this meeting got one. I had just written a long winded explanation of how we released them all as well then lost the lot when I spell checked. Thanks for saving me having to do it again. Karen

I've heard a few stories goin round myself but now youre just teasing. Will it be an addition to the Ewers stable of some sort by any chance. Possibly a humanoid addition ?? Or maybe a mechanical addition....or both?? ;D

,goes to show be careful where you contract to next season your local track might not release you for big meetings its tightening up So Marty, what you are saying is its ok to tout your car & contract to the track that will let you go anywhere anytime? I thought SNZ did not condone freelancing?

The expense is strictly racing related and doesn't involve any additions to the stable, wheeled or otherwise to the best of my knowledge.

Dale has been fortunate enough to receive a second invitation to the world finals in the UK in September, where he will join Malcolm Ngatai in representing NZ.
He was there three years ago but this time wants to make a month-long assault on it to do it properly, including a big meeting in Holland. It's a major expense but Dale is very very keen to have another crack at it.
He and Malcolm have been outstanding achievers in the past month and I'm sure we all want to see them do the silver fern proud.

I thought SNZ did not condone freelancing? No not at all but if clubs wont release drivers for the big meetings then they might want to think where to contract to because in my book thats wrong what are drivers supposed to do stay home and just run club meetings all the time? If this happens more often drivers not being released for big meetings then for sure you will see a lot of freelancing and SNZ cannot blame the drivers for that but the clubs that wont release them.
