This is not getting at anybody, but im a little (more) confused about the numbers rules. I was to the understanding that across ALL classes the 1,2,3 was reserved for 1nz, 2nz, 3nz only, but at rotorua on sat night i saw a ministox with 3 on it. Do ministox not count in that rule? Id have a look in my rulebook, but im still waiting on it from snz since 2006.

As Ministocks do not have any SNZ championships it is probably ok. The rulebook can be downloaded as a PDF from the SNZ site, takes all of a couple of minutes.

When I asked SNZ about using 1, 2 and 3 for a regional class the directors came back and said no that they cannot be used even as 1E or 3P so are unsure how these cars managed it.

I guess now we have ELS we dont need to worry aboout the 0 rule. Maybe now i can have 05. Unfortunately it makes no difference as I believe one of the reasons it was brought in was because of the way the numbers sounded over the P.A systems when the numbers were being announced. Even with ELS they'd still sound the same.

I guess now we have ELS we dont need to worry aboout the 0 rule. Maybe now i can have 05. We still have manual lapscoring it is required as a back up. ELS has only room for 2 number digits and one track letter in the data base. or 3 numbers only and "0" is not a number it has to entered as, point 0 , BUT as Natsoft system only allows alpha numeric .05 don't work. Try saying 40, 1, 33, 20, 2 fast ,it sounds like 41,33,22, can cause much confusion when inquiries are required, remember that numbers are for the benefit of the competitors so as to have quick identification not only for lap scoring purposes BUT also for referee's and stewards etc

But if we have these rules, and ELS cant cope with it, how do these cars run these numbers? Is it the tracks fault for allowing it? snz fault for allowing it when a licence is applied for? Someone must be accountable, surely.

Would just like to point out that this pic was taken at practice when the driver was previously a 13 and unsure whether he could use this number or not so had removed the 3 until he was given conformation as to what number he could use. Why is everyone so quick to jump to conclusions???

Often wondered about some of that.
