I've just checked out the entry list for Sunday night's Global Challenge. 45 cars is a little down on what I may have expected, but a quick look through the list tells me 28 of those 45 drivers entered did not race in the World 240's, leaving only 17 drivers committed to both meetings.
There are therefore 36 drivers that actually raced at the Rotorua event that are not even entered here (athough we certainly know what's up with a few of those), meaning an entry list of approaching 80 odd was theoretically possible.
Now one or two of the cars maybe the same with a different international driver behind the wheel, but that's still an awful lot of cars not supporting both meetings. Imagine if they were all at one track at one time.......

With so many big meetings in a short amount of time I wounder if drivers are looking at spending time at home for some needed R&R or would like to race at there home track?

I think that pretty much hits it on the head......if the tracks concerned stopped trying to out-do each other with promotions then it wouldnt be so bad.

The lack of Hawkes Bay cars travelling this season makes a difference as well.

Also take into consideration that its a Sunday night meeting - the drivers have to work for a living as do the fans - and for a lot of out-of-towners it would be the early of the hours of Monday morning arriving home, then having to go to work shattered - or take a precious days leave - so understandable really why some aren't listed.
Lucky for us its 10 minutes to the track! ;D
