Here is a photo of Rob's NZ style Brisca F1, photo taken at a frozen Belle Vue in December. And a photo from Rob especially for Mad Marty. ;D OK Rob, tell us more about the car, and your NZ connection.

I do love Robs car , it is so different to what we are used to seeing in the U.K, The same way as the elwell car looked great all those years ago , That said your cars are built for heavy action and look very robust in there design, ours are perhaps more light weight and can take a knock but are more designed for stock car racing, I cannot wait for our season to start so we can see who has been busy building new cars, And Yes I would love to see your kiwi style team racing here if you can arrange it plz! .........

Another question if Malcom Ngati and Pat Westbury are NZ's two reps providing the choose to go, at the World Final in the UK how will Roydon Collingwood qualify?

Another question if Malcom Ngati and Pat Westbury are NZ's two reps providing the choose to go, at the World Final in the UK how will Roydon Collingwood qualify? Malcolm and Dale Ewers are the two invited drivers, I am sure something will be worked out for Roydon. If not he would have to do a full Brisca season and go through all the WC Qualifying meetings to get to the Semis, and qualify the hard way, and I don't think that is going to happen. And, yes John, it was good to see the car, especially last night at Palmy when Peter Falding had it honking along pretty quickly.

Yes the two drivers going to England are Dale and Malcolm. How. Malcolm has religuished his right as 1NZ thus giving this to Dale and Pat Westbury doesn't want to go so Malcolm is taking the W240 spot. This of course comes with some help with travel for the first available driver from the W240s getting a travel voucher so obviously a good choice. We also had both Peter Bengston and Mark Osborne at 4th= that we also keen.
Not quite sure how Roydon will get in as NZ are strictly limited to the two places but guess they have it sorted separately.
have you seen those mad buggers and their 'banger racing'... im sure they are suicidal. look it up on youtube, those guys are crazy
I think that raises a good question about the difference in contact between here in the UK and NZ. You tend to find that drivers looking for more 'crash n bash' than racing gravitate to Banger racing whereas, those seeking speed and a bit of aggression, gravitate towards stock car racing (F1 and F2). Part of that comes from the rules of stock car racing which allow spinning and hitting providing it's not what's euphemistically called 'deliberate fencing' although it is permissible to hit a car and as a result put it into the fence though, the Kiwi follow-ins and wall ups are strictly taboo (though not unheard of).
Banger racing focuses heavily on the crashing though it's not like the traditional demo derbies in NZ. The UK guys can race all sorts of stuff and I've seen three wheeler, ice cream truck, bus and truck banger racing. We have loads of teams events here including 'Civil War' (North vs South) and the 'Battle of Britain' which has teams from all over the UK racing unlimited CC cars at full tilt. It has to be seen to be believed to watch a driver wind his car up down the straight at full chat and fire straight into a car parked in the bend fence then calmly climb out of the front window whilst all hell is breaking loose around them.
I'll post some clips on here of the trucks etc on here later to enjoy - as already pointed out, you have to be pretty mental to want to race in some of the races theses guys get into.

Hi John and thanks for the question ,On the whole we've had a pretty good reception from the fans as it really is something different ,drivers I think are giving it a bit of a side ways view ie not sure until they raced against it a few times so we,ll have to see
