Shane McIntrye has won the super saloon GP at baypark with 21n Ian Burson finishing 2nd in the main event and Mark Orchard 3rd having started lower in the field. Dean Waddell had a very good race right up until he got spun whilst contesting 3rd in the race by 9w? which saw dean spin the then a charging Paul Carter trying to avoid him but still slapping the right side of his car into Deans front. Yellows were on and both cars got to car where they were but 9w? got blacked flagged for the incident. Dean was trying but pulled off in the end as he was going backwards in the field. Shane won the race from start to finish off grid 2. As in the way of carnage there was a little bit but i didn't take note of who they were. Congrats Shane and well done and your season can only get better.

from what i heard (dont quote me)emmerson aparently blew his engine.
have to feel sorry for ray stewart being caught up in other people incidents 2 times.it can and does happen just a shame it happened to someone who came from so far but it was good to see the car out and keep on pace for the laps it did.
good night overall

I had to leave early so...
after all the hype (tui) about those who entered, was i right with a count of 24 cars that started the 2 heats? 12 in each. I know Emmo wasn't racing in either. Heaps of bad luck lately.
I'm trying to remember what I saw (because i left my program behind) but non-M cars k - 1 H - 3 T - 1 E - 1 N - 3 B - 2 W - 1
If Im right that was about half the field. thats not bad.

Cheers for that. Been beside myself waiting for news. How did Emmerson go? A friendly conrod massaged his the inside of his sump about 2-3 laps into the qualifying hotlaps. Pity the highline didn't have any bite, as waddell found out trying to pass burson, he went from 3rd to 4th with that attempt, same place next lap he went from 4th to 5th. Pity cause watching supers at baypark is about watching the ballsey guys making the outside moves. It amazes me how BP can have a great track night after night, yet come to a big meet, it goes pretty one laned and makes for a lack lusture race. Last years NI's were the same....

Great run by Shane, start to finish a cruuzy night. Deans car was off all night, found that they had a blown RF shock which is a problem that they may have been carrying since the ChCh Meeting. Paul Carter looked good for a while in the main as did Russel Donavan I was super impressed by the 61 car who got up to 3rd in the final and also Hemi with his new set-up looked comfortable right from the start. Ray got tied up in other peoples incidents which removed him from the event, but the cars ready for the North Islands in Gizzy this coming weekend. Emo retired early running on 7 Lance Jenning, Damaged Hockey stick and Breaks and therefore didn't make the main Mark Pitcher was fast and running a comfortable 3-4 until incident with the 81Car, sent to the back and then Black Flagged for having a piece of fibreglass hanging off the side??!! Good Crowd, good drivey track, great nights racing!!!!!! was worth the trip form Dunedin to see it

Hey Zach, I feel like Dunkin Donuts right now ;D....only joking. Sounds like a great meet held at Baypark last night. The 1NZ McIntyre sure sounds like he's on form, congrates Shane on winning the GP. Real shame to hear about the 7M Emerson car. Look forward to seeing some photos from Baypark.

I was super impressed by the 61 car who got up to 3rd in the final Good Crowd, good drivey track, great nights racing!!!!!! was worth the trip form Dunedin to see it Crowd was down a bit on what it could have been. If the track was up to its usual, with the track having a true high line 61m would have been a good bet to take the win, he did well to get up to 3rd, running the pole line was pretty unfamiliar territory for him and i dont think his car was set up for running low.

A great nights racing for the most part The crowd seemed abit thin though for such a big meeting, and a shame the track wen't single laned in the A-main Congrats to 1nz Shane McIntyre, having a great month and looks oh so smooth on the track. Hard luck stories of the night, 9w Mark Pitcher, black flagged for loose bodywork. It looked like it was ready to fall off, surely they could've stopped him and yanked it off and let him rejoin, they we're under yellow anyway. Common sense anyone? 7m Brent Emmerson, motor, early in the night, such a shame to lose an 'entertainer' so early in the evening. Can he have it fixed for the North Islands? 71n Ron Taylor, diff, with Bayparks fast turnaround had no hope of getting the diff changed over in time. 18k Nik Mcdonald, power steering, certainly the most spectacular in time trials with lifting the whole left side of the car up, and looking good in the dash until losing the power steering mid-race. Still finished near the front of the dash but did'nt make it out for the A-main.

Lol, maybe Nik is working on something for the next James Bond flick. Heard before that the power steering fluid was comeing out of the pump so must of been spraying onto the exhausts. And is it just me, or does it seem such a shame to see Maurice Cowling struggling around the back of the feild in his late model type car, we all know he's so much better than this...

The 9W incendent, we would loved to of being able to pull the body work off his car so he could carry on racing But that is outside assissants. There would have been protests from all directions and outside assissants is not allowed. End of problem.
