Chirs has been a big supporter of speedway - motorsport for years, as well as being a top superstock driver, then going onto entertaining us in his XF falcon in the targa smoking up the wheels using more tyres than anyone else, but in late has been the proud dad 8r Shane Allan in his ministock, most of all chirs and the team at south auckland cranes supported alot of teams out there. In helping them race week in and week out,
Chris received burns to 30% of his body in a bad accident this morning, at waiuku dirt track where chirs was trying to sort out a fuel problems, Chirs was taken to middlemore and is to believed to be in a stable but serious condition, lets all hope he is recovers quick thoughts go out to maggie and the boys,
well thanku to st johns staff you guys are amazing,

Chris is in hospital, yes.
He does have burns to approx 30% of his body, I don't believe he is listed as serious, but he has been known to be serious from time to time.
The accident was in the pits prior to racing and Chris raced through the pits near naked into the water trough to bring himself a very good chance of a quick recovery.
He is expected to be in hospital for 5-7 days or probably sooner knowing him. His first request after being examined was for a cigarette, so I guess you realise his sense of humour is still un-damaged. The ST Johns as usual were brilliant and his family who were at the track in force, left the cars to attend Dad, brother etc.
Please no visitors is his wish at this stage, contact the family if necessary regarding visiting, as he is a guy who hates being fussed over. He quietly goes about fussing over others, sometimes without them realising he is the one responsible.
He will fully recover and be as mad as normal very soon.
Waiuku Dirt Track Club are fully supporting Chris and his fantastic family as much as possible and will investigate this incident to determine if any safety improvements can be learnt from a dangerous situation.

Hooncorp. Burns are burns, and no matter how bad hurt like hell, thank f##k you're recovery will be quicker than first thought. I'm fairly sure your stay in the hospital will be fairly short, but we're still not sure if you will check your self out or get chucked out for playing up. When the nurse comes round, ask her for an ashtray . . . . that normally gets them going straight away ;D Take care, and all the best to Maggie etc Jamo Bromley
