Vaz here course we wanted to teams race but the FACTS are; -
1) As my wife and me pay for the car ourselves, we did the south island and 240's in the past month, due to damage during the past few months the funds are limited.
2) The engine is running perfect this year now it is up to me to get the rest of the car right, we have invested alot of money this year already to get this right and we are not quite there yet.
I definintely did not want to let the auckland team or our supporters down but without huge sponsors it makes it hard and I had to make the decision.,,,,being self employed and not working for over a month makes our pasion even harder to do as you all could appreciate aye....as always all the 'experts' on this site know better than us that do the racing so i hope this explanation informs those that genuinely care..VAZ

Cost in teams racing especially can be a killer always bound to get damage and lots of it which in turn means huge money to replace high tech gear. As Noel Hawthorne had mentioned team spirit when myself Mitty and Wardy raced for the Allstars in 2005 there was plenty of team spirit we didn't even go out to race with a plan just went out and raced each race as it unfolded and did our jobs. But I also agree with Noel that team spirit and gelling goes a long way to a successful team.

Sometimes people forget that money actually dosent grow on trees and doing these huge meetings really does cost a heck of alot. I dont and wont call myself an expert but I do know that racing a car can cost a fair bit. Look, if we cant get a team together for Palmy its not going to kill the spirits of the supporters......Just means that at the AK Teams we all might be a LITTLE louder..... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gezz Paul you just destroyed the rumour mill. Anyway if you and the old boy are down at Palmy the old timers will be holding up the bar at the Railway on Saturday afternoon. John Farndon HISCONZ
