www.ntra.tv Blair Emmerson built and raced stockcars out of Palmerston North in the early 80s and has been in the US for quite a few years . Stockcar racing as we know it is now truly international

wahoo....so whens the international series taking off ;D
Must be a bit of a nightmare for them though, the way the american legal system is. Lots of paperwork to sign.
Good work though, will be interesting to see any american comments.

Was reading about this last year! I can't see why teams racing wouldn't appeal to the states or any country. Good on him for taking it over there as a travelling circus. Great work

Here's the responce i recieved from Blair today Hey there guy's , we have only just begun with this whole thing so things are a little crazy at the moment . The American speedway fans love what we have to offer but the track's and promotors are not geared up for what is about to happen . most every track only has partial concrete walls and limited catch fencing ,so everything you do is a long process. We are based in Dallas Texas and currently working with a local track to run our cars and convert his track so that we can put on a real Kiwi show on . We built the series to an era of cars that were fun and had character , then we made it a spec class so that as it grows it all stays the same. We run a crate dirt track 350 chevy (buy off the shelf for $3000.00 ) . The gearbag is a gerico 4 speed shorty . It would blow you away with what you can buy over the counter here .I tryed to log on to the web sight you gave me but nothing came through ?(thats macgors he was talking about as i sent him the link) We thank ya'll for writing and would love to here from you again , Blair and Debra

The biggest problem I can see is that the tracks here are not contained by walls, many have no fence/wall in the corners, they are banked and have a "run off" area. Always funny to watch a car dissappear over the top then re emerge a couple of laps later! Also no pit gates, so cars can enter and exit the track during a race. Some tracks have pits on the infield as well with walls/fences that would not have stopped Royden at Rotovegas the other week It looks like they are addressing this at the track in Texas but as much as I would love to see real stockcars in the USA it will take a lot of money/effort to get tracks up to spec and it would be a shame to have stockcars that can't show their full potential because of the tracks!

I think if they can't get a couple meetings under their belts and get some good crowds, this will really take off in America. Promoters will make the investment in their tracks if they can see the profits in such a venture. Good luck guys. Ireally hope you pull it off. And once you've finished there, get your ass's to the UK and get our guys on board with the idea ;D
