Bought a little incar camera at a motor show in Auckland a few months back. Haven't had a lot of joy with it to date, as usual for me with new technology, but bliss o joy, last night at Rotorua we had some measure of success. I recorded all three heats, that last being too dark. Heat One we have a 10 car field with me off the rear, struggling to get to 6th with a severe shortage of get up and go out of the turns - something to do with fuel leaking into the rear of the carby? The only real hiccup, apart from power loss, was contact with Debbie Brockelsby 97K, mid turn 3 & 4 early in the race. Isn't doesn't show up in the video as the camera is on the left hand side of the car and made an inside pass (sort off) on 97k. Fortunately no damage no stoppage to either, but a dented pride! nz.youtube.com/watch?v=bsn29uNVDyUHeat two had me off grid 4. Bit of trouble getting past car in grid 2. This footage is a bit embarressing, getting a driving lesson from a quick TR8 driven by a woman, Francine Baker! Got a bit dark. I wonder if somehow you can increase the exposure once downloaded onto the computor? nz.youtube.com/watch?v=54YTLsXluCg&feature=channel

Man I love that stuff, you cant beat a drivers eye view, LOL and it picked up the love tap early on, the motor sounds very sweet to.
Keep us posted if you add any more.

I noticed in the first clip - nice driving btw, if only the race was a lap longer - that the changing light seemed to affect the contrast, particularly when pointing in a south westerly direction. If your posting the videos as downloaded off the camera, then you would need a third party application with the right options to tweak brightness, contrast, colour gain etc. I use Pinnacle Studio Plus myself which does have those features (although I dont need to use those options much filming from one spot) Windows XP comes with a basic movie maker application which I havent really explored, it might be worth looking at that software before going out and spending a few hundred dollars on a pro app like Studio. Then because of the changing light, you would need to chop the clip up into light section dark section etc and apply the corrections to the dark sections only. But its good to see that more drivers are getting nice incar footage for the fans - it truly is a great perspective on the race.
