well I've got a Lexus production saloon for 15K.
OK... it needs a trailer, some complient bits and pieces to bring it up to spec (Basically everything from the ground up), plus a little bit of work required to bring it up to spec since I haven't actually converted it to anything other than a road car, but since race cars are getting worth more than road cars, I figure a truly unique make and model of potential race car is worth an estimated 6K extra. Add to that that it came from the same manufacturer that builds prestige luxury cars - therefore being a Lexus AE100-2E liftback makes up for the extra 8K. ;D
They mixed the badges up and stuck "Toyota Corolla XL" on it unfortunately, so I guess it was assembled on a Friday.
Seriously, 60K for a stockie is a serious investment in a class which was intended to be for lower budgets. You can get a reasonably decent superstock for that which would be good enough for hitting - why bother with a standard stock for the price when you could be an entertainer in a feature class?

Have you guys all forgotten that the upper price is always set by the market. It's only worth 60K if someone pays that for it.
What something is worth and how much the owner wants for it are often two completely different things.
No matter how many people say its not worth 60k it only takes two people (and one of them has to actually have a spare $60k that they are happy to spend on it) to decide it is worth that much for the sale to be made, but as long as only one person thinks so it will remain unsold.

Makes $35k for the 3=NZ (4NZ) and 2NI car seem a bargain!

At the end off the day, a person can ask whatever they want for there racecar, but it comes down to what someone wants to pay that matters.

Just to repeat the majority, it is what someone is prepared to pay. But I must say that must be some amazing stockcar. Although on Trade Me, there is a bloke selling a 1970's mini for a buy now of $70,000. It has no real pedigree, just a lot of money chucked at it.

Seems alot for a Std Stock, but I saw it racing in Nelson and it is a mighty impressive car. I actually thought it was a Superstock to start with. Sharp looking car and plenty quick enough. I'm sure there is someone out there that would pay that much for what must be a top Std Stock. But probably more that would use that money on a Superstock instead.

Not to mention the accidental travel to chch to find out that stockcars wern't running, so it ran with the supers and held its own very well. sounds and looks like a superstock. One very mental car
