With this year being a AGM, I wonder who is going to be running for President and directors of SNZ..... I understand that it could be Barry Brown?

With this year being a AGM Surely AGM stands for ANNUAL general meeting so it would happen every year.

The checkout girl out my local supermarket was named Mandeep carwrecker. We poked fun at her too As for your suggestion Aaron, I'm sure one has to be a director to become president, and since I'm not one that make the odds fairly long I suspect. Check your friendly TAB for a quote.......

If the odds get long enough I am sure their would be one or two on here who might have a punt. Jam being one of them

I think even RamJam prefers to back a sure thing, or at least something close to favouritism that at least stands a chance, as opposed to a tired has-been also-ran three-legged donkey........

Sorry to hear that Barry I have never heard you refered to as a 3 legged Donkey. Is there something you want to share with us all

Well maybe that's one of the few things I haven't been called over the past 20 years. Will certainly interesting to see whose names are put forward come the time. A thankless task for those involved..........

Will any potential candidate be prepared to nail their colours to the mast and put out a statement of what they believe in, what they stand for, and what they intend to do? A manifesto or policy document if you like. Here's an idea - perhaps the speedway community could put together a document, a declaration of principles, that potential candidates could either endorse or not. Might help the voting process if the candidates could be elected on the basis of what they intend to do, rather than just who they are?

That's one of the least silly ideas I've heard in awhile Tony....I'm sure many of the directors - not all though, I do accept - would appreciate more direction from their subjects............

When a nomination to be a Director is accepted the nominee is required to submit a statement about who he/she is and what they stand for. I did this when I was nominated and in it said what qualities I thought I bought to the board and what my goals were for my time on the board. I presume that it helped me to get elected. For those of you who are wanting some input into who might be on the board next term you need to do several things. Get out there and encourage people whom you feel might do a good job as board members And take the time to find out who is standing what qualities they offer and vote accordingly. Like any election if you don't vote you can hardly bleat after the event if you don't like what you get
