The stories are horrific. There are reports of 22 dead in the area less than 20 drive from where I used to live. I have lived with earthquakes, been near ruapehu when it erupted but there is nothing I have experienced in my life more frightning than Standing on my roof with a garden hose on a scorcing day, looking at the fire on the edge of town and the strong wind blowing directly into my face. It's coming for you. We were blessed that day and wind changed direction 180 degrees turning the fire back on itself saving the town of Traralgon. That still shakes me - I can't imagine the terror these people must have gone (are still going) through. I, and my church, are supporting my friends over here and will continue to. I believe there is going to be a support fund set up (or has already) and the government will kick it off. Should be plenty of advertising about that. get behind it people. One day we may need it in return.
