Wow! Something comes out of Bay Park!
As for the Kapa Haka champs, sounds like they are going to charge for the haka anyway. Whats a cuupa worth?

Don't loose any sleep Porky over your non appearance ... this is a recent innovation to increase Willie's profit at your expense. Great if you can get away with it! Baypark Promotions Ltd is a commercial profit run business. The club is not on any profit share arrangement. Absolutely amazes me that members fall for it. No different to buying a hamburger at McD's then being asked to sweep their yard!

Hi Murray, You maybe (Probably) right about your comment regarding Willie profiting from the hard work done. I was there the Sunday before to assist with the pit clean up and was there on Sunday to help removing the fence ropes etc. I will also be there on the 23rd to help to put it back up again. It was great to be involved in something with a whole lot of drivers, crews supporters etc from different classes and generate a bit of club spirit. Something that isn't seen very often at Baypark anymore. Willie was quick to provide a few beers for everybody and the day went quickly and because of my hard work my wife even let me sleep on the couch in the afternoon. I will do almost ANYTHING to help if it means the Mrs will let me sleep on the couch instead of mowing lawns. I did notice 200 people paid by the council (TCVL) from a Hamilton Rowing club cleaning the seating areas around the stadium. I can't understand why Tauranga Boys/Girls college or another local fund-raising organisation weren't offered the same opportunity or even the Speedway club. Why does Craig Ross (TCVL) get to assist an out of town Rowing team that he has an interest in instead of supporting his local area. If Waikato rowing does well in the Tauranga City Council purchase assisted boats I'm sure they wont be thanking us (the City) or thanking me as a rate payer. To me that is a bigger question and one that truly disgusted me. And as for you PORKY, good luck for your wedding

Thanks for the insight Murry and is great to know you have got things straight as you show us the chip you have on your shoulder in the Public arena yet again. The input that the club puts in on the Sundays and also in regards to pulling down the fences goes both ways. From my understanding (which may be as informed as yours of course) this is work we undertake in return for the agreed financial contribution Baypark Promotions makes to our club. And as for putting the fence up this is part of it too. Last time i checked we cant race without the fence up so guess that would be of some benefit to the driver helping there also, seeing as if its not back up and to the correct standard we go trailer racing!!!

No different to buying a hamburger at McD's then being asked to sweep their yard! Murray, Murray. Isn't it great to see some life and pride in the club. Shouldn't that be applauded. People getting out and working together for the benefit of one another and the sport they love. Be careful when judging others motives as sometimes it isn't as black and white as you seem to make it out to be. Tell me when you go to McD's do you put your rubbish in the bin and the tray away or do you just leave it on the table so they are not saving money at your expense? Rules/laws are good for form and structure but we human beings function best when there is a bit of give and padding on those cold hard standards. If you choose to go and be involved, have fun, socialise and do a good deed it really doesn't matter what others motives are because you win - you had a great time. It sounds like those who turned up did and I hope all those who turn up next time will too. thanks to all who have volunteered for the good of the sport for all of us.
