Bernie made a valid point ( Well I think he did) in an earlier post..I would be interested to find out what drivers, family, crew and supporters think about this. I feel it has for me.

With entry price at my local track having gone up, I am now more choosey about what meets I attend. E.g. SI Streetie title this weekend, will just go to the Saturday.

Not really as we are always looking for value out of our speedway weekend. Good to see that some tracks eg WP and Huntly have lowered prices this season. Woodford Glen offers superb value at $13 for a regular nite and Rotorua great value with their cub nites at $5.
Value can be determined in other ways with excellent fields, support classes, food, free parking, programmes....

I was going to say as a spectator I have saved money this season because my local track has chosen to halve the number of Saturday meetings it's running. Realistically though it's costing me more as a speedway fan because I now have to traveler further to get my weekly Fix.
An example of this is, this weekend I have to drive for over an hour to Huntly if I want to see the Closed wheel Style speedway that I prefer.
The end result of this, from a spectators point of view this season is an education, you realise not all speedways are equal and that if you want value for your money it pays to be selective and don't be afraid to travel.

Not so much the economic situation effecting my speedway season but more so the cost of attending meetings at my local track (Dunedin) when there is a severe lack of the drawcard grades.ie super saloons and superstocks. Two grades of production saloons,a handful of youth ministocks and bugger all of anything else dictate where I will spend my money....Not at the speedway.Streetstocks are a draw card however and we will be there this weekend to give our support.

yup..has limited me to the amount of meetings i can attend, and any repairs to the car, so eventually forcing a sale...that and having more training this year on race dates has canned my season a fair bit, atleast the money from the training may go towards a new car next year....

Definatly, lost the full use company van so travel severly restricted, cost of living going up but wages staying the same means less to spend, having to make decisions between spectating and buying bits for the new car. The superstock is now on the back burner and the F2 is limping towards completion, however after the season ends I'll be able to spend more money and time on the car.
