4c would have finished roughly 8th or there abouts. good racing from the mods, pretty clean. noonan had some amazing pace in the final finishing at least half a lap in front of 121s. 5w had a rollover, and 55s? ward hit the pit corner wall pretty hard doing some front end damage.

Yes well done to the Stratford pilots for getting 1, 2 & 3.
Having goods fields with regular competitive racing at Naki's local can only be a good thing as it is obvious that it helps to sharpen skills and raises standards all round.
Conversely Wellingtons Brian McPhee and Tama Aprahere haven't raced that much this season and it showed.
Heat 1 had little passing as the track quickly turned into one lane, although Fox was trying hard to pass.
Heat 2 was better after club President/track prep man/mod pilot Brian McPhee did a few laps in the grader. John Jackson looked fast and past Tama with a slick move. Sadly Jamie Fox collided with a wobbly 5w which all but ended 11a GP chances but to his credit Fox did finish albeit with flat front tire and bent steering.
Heat 3 Noonan zoomed off into the distance to win easily which was interesting because one of the commentators mentioned that his car was the oldest mod out there.
Brian McPhees mod back to the panel beaters.

Good nights racing put on by the mods , poor old jamie fox never seems to have much luck when he comes to wgtn , seems to be abit of a boogy track for him..Well done to Willie Noonan was fast all night and great speech after the final heat, to say he was pretty happy about the win would be a understatement...Thanks to all the drivers that turned up , really enjoy a good field of mods going hard.....

Well done to the Noonan camp on a great win. Gota say it just goes to show you dont need an American built car with American built components in it to win. Willies Naki built tractor has been around for years and still runs VW torsions, with a bit of upstairs thinking you can end up with a winning combo. Good ol Kiwi ingenuity. No J n J cars on the podium for the NZs or GP, makes ya wonder if its worth having one.

Matt you speak the truth and back it up with facts. Jamo sorry you take it personally that your MEGA dollar state of the art weapon gets whipped by a dinosor naki tractor. As Matt say's very politely what have your team won this year out of the national titles, dirt cup is not a national title. We all know that you and your team are very dedicated to the class and put in an enormous amount of effort on and off the track. Lets just say this hasn't been one of your better trophy years but this is no reason to attack Matt. Hope next season is more to your liking.

We have no problem at all with getting beaten by anybody, Willy included. To be fair Willy is driving the wheels off the old girl and it is great to have him back in the class. I think it is drawing a longbow to assume that just because someone has a J&J chassis they must automatically be expected to win everything (wish it went this way though! ;D). Conversely it is also silly to suggest that if other cars win events then it is obvious the J&J chassis are not worth having! The class is the most competitive it has been for years at the moment and that is great for the drivers and the fans, you can tell that by looking at the results this year with no one driver dominating. Team Fox are more than happy with the chassis and package we have, we are also more than happy with the results we have achieved this year. Every meeting we have attended we have been on the pace this year no matter what the track. Our lap times at all events have been consistently in the top 3 and Foxy has done a great job keeping the car tidy and, in most instances, damage free. Sure our results at the main events have been disappointing but when you look into these results it is clear that this is thru no fault of ours..... like a few guys we just have happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time! That is racing. To imply that the J&J chassis are not worth having because of failure to be on a couple of podiums is insulting and ignorant and I thought it best to stick up for our sponsors product. We will not be changing anytime soon and would suggest that if there are guys out there wanting to be more consistent they could do alot worse than giving a J&J chassis a go! Team Fox will be on a podium at a town near you soon! You can bet on it!!
As for your comment re the Dirt cup nakifan I would argue that this event was harder to win the NZ champs! 20 cars were in the event the same as the finals in the NZ's (lets be honest, qualifying was a doodle for the top guys). As well as 2 x 20 lap races the top 6 guys had to go one on one in a pole shuffle (6 of the quicker guys in the country with no where to hide!) which is something that did not have to happen at the NZ's. After all that they all had to do a 25 lapper!! NZ champs was pretty much done and dusted after the carnage in heat 2 meaning that only 3-4 guys had a shot at the title. Sure it isn't a SNZ event and to be honest I hope like hell it never becomes one, would be a sure way of ruining it! ;D
